It is not Impossible that there are some saboteurs in the isolation centres who are collecting bribes to release patients. The matter should be investigated and the offenders brought to book. |

Mathiasa:They run because of stigmatisation, they run because of the fear of unknown. Your explanation couldn't explain why they run because they were never there before. How would they know how they are being taken care of? Lagos state. [s] librangyps:[/s] Very unfortunate comment, a silly one for that matter. I hope that your ignorance and foolishness doesn't allow covid-19 to consume you |

Like seriously don't these isolation centre have proper fencing and security. Some of these event are making me to see the unseriousness of the government in fighting this thing. Provide good security. Conducive environment for recovery. Access of media to see around the isolation centres Proper sensitization to the staffs and isolators. |

#Expository piece by Dr. Mike Chukwu and I urge every knowledge hunter to savour it : COVID-19: THE WAY FORWARD Nigerians should recognise that the fight against Coronavirus has entered another phase. To borrow a local parlance , the trouser don tear beyond 'Obioma, abeg help me patch am'. We need a fresh perspective that recognises: 1. The infection is now pervasive. It's no longer a matter of 'block and tackle' 2. We test 2,000 people a day, at most. Till date, we have tested only 22,492 people over a period of 2.5 months. That works out at approximately 9,000 per month or 300 per day. Assuming, optimistically, we ramp up Testing to an AVERAGE of 1,000 per day, it would take 6 years to test just 1% of Nigerians (2m people). Can we be on lockdown for 6 years? 3. It has been proven that for over 90% of the carriers of the virus, the disease is asymptomatic. 4. We are testing only those who are symptomatic because we do not have enough Test Kits. 5. Of those, who are symptomatic (less than 1% of the population), only 3% die. 6. 99% of those who die have underlying, preexisting illnesses such as Cancer, Diabetes, Hypertension etc 7. Nigeria's GDP is about $400bn (N160 trillion) per annum. Every one month of lockdown costs Nigeria over N10 trillion. This is higher than our 2020 budget! 8. With the crash of crude oil price, we already have N7trillion of Budget deficit in 2020 that the Government is struggling to cover. 9. Nigeria simply cannot afford prolonged lockdown! We do not have the resources required to fund the palliatives and collateral damage. 10. It's cheaper for Nigeria to devise a strategy that focuses on how we can protect the less than 1% of our population who have preexisting illnesses and are therefore most vulnerable, while the rest of Nigerians carry on with their lives. This strategy may cost, say N1 trillion, but it would be cost efficient and sustainable. Copied |

librangyps:How much do you think the federal government makes as compared to the money they were making before the lockdown? Is 100billion self even equal or up to the money they make from tollgate + agebro bus charges, or taxes from workers put together in a month? |
| Re: LASG Raises Alarm Over Rising Cases Of Run-Away COVID-19 Positive Patients by librangyps(f): 8:26pm On May 09, 2020 |
MrCuteking:My brother the corruption in this country doesn't make it easy to trust information from these thieves and looters. The thing tire me jaree. Many states just want to mark present and get their share of the billions. Alot of states dont make as much from agberos, taxes, etc. I assume you're using Lagos as a statistic. |
