Wike: Why I Support The Hotel Demolition In Rivers State by IkwerrePikin(op): 7:14pm On May 10, 2020
Why I support Wike:

1. Gov. Wike said earlier, that all hotels will be shutdown as private company workers who sneak their ways into Rivers state end up at the hotels and with the closure of the hotels it will be difficult for them to have a place to stay if they eventually sneak into the state.

2. Gov. Wike warned that any hotel who disobeys the order by the state government, that hotel will be demolished.

A hotel management who refuse to shut down it’s operation as ordered by the state government even after receiving warnings from the state government, that such hotel will be demolished if they refuse to close, is not just an enemy of the state of Rivers and it’s people but also a saboteur and a threat to the life and properties of Rivers people and I believe that hotel management was bribed to secretly open the hotel for certain people who will sneak into the state to be accommodated.

This is an example for all those doing business in Rivers state to know that in Rivers State we take actions against those who fill like they are above the state. Some may say, he would have locked it up, but well he already made it clear he was going to demolish and not lock!!huh

Explain how it is senseless? People are saying that hotel was paid by a private company to remain open so they can have their workers sneak into Rivers and have a place to stay when we don’t know their Covid-19 status!

Some of you don’t like to obey law, if the state turn to lagos with increasing number of covid-19, you will be among those who will say Wike is incompetent.

But news flying around reported that some big hotels in the state are still widely open.

Wike got this one wrong completely.

Wike has no legal right to demolish an hotel that didn't keep to his shutdown order, We are not in a monarchy or a dictatorship, and there is no law passed by the Rivers State House of Assembly that empowers him to do such.

If the hotel owner sues him, he will certainly win.

His action is not justified, it's nothing but pure wickedness & act of dictatorship

He should have convert the hotel to isolation centre, & also fine the owner instead of demolishing

Only a destroyer demolish another mans means of livelihood

Mind you, I don't support people flouring orders to prevent spread of covid 19 but demolishing the hotel is not the right thing to do as punishment

Atimes I wish I had the power to kill people over the net.

Most Nigerians are very wicked, useless souls.

So you support the destruction of another mans property just because he flouted ordinary orders?

What happened to sealing the place and fining the establishment? Was this carnage backed by law?

Kitikpa gbagbue gi na that Wike there... Useless Ikwerre animals.

I’m glad you don’t support but the punishment was stated clearly what do you say about that?? He wants to flex muscle with an elected governor over how much for a night booking? If we have more covid-19 cases tomorrow as a result of people who sneak into the state and end up at the hotels what happens?? Dictatorship is when you destroy the property without giving warnings and the consequences of disobeying such warning which Wike clearly did.

Oga if orders to protect the life and properties of Rivers people is ordinary to you in your state go and disobey the orders there. You asked what happened to finning the establishment? I asked what happened to the hotel keeping to the order of the govt knowing that he said clearly he will demolish any hotel to fails to keep to the order? This is about life and properties of Rivers people.

It can’t be me because I won’t disobey the govt in a pandemic like this risking the life of Rivers people, I won’t do such because of how much for a night??

But demolishing the place is not the best punishment. Do you even know maybe the owner of that hotel built the place with bank loan?

Some years back, shops were destroyed at Iwo road under bridge during the time of past administration & I know of a man who died on spot after hearing the news that his wares have been demolished alongside the shop, a pensioner who built a shop at same spot got stroke that same week

Do you know what the hotel owner will be passing through now?
