I'm in New Jersey, a number of them are green card and dual citizenship holders! They are recieving covid stimulus money and unemployment benefits, along with insurance! Don't be deceived, they want to spend most of the year in naija, while the money enters their account and they spend cheap naira over there.

They were stranded in the US and most likely don’t live there.

They might also be running low on cash and with the current high unemployment and business closure in the US, getting even under the table job would be difficult and the US Government did not extend any palliative to them and they are not qualify to claim unemployment benefits.

Even if the cure is found, they will be second thought as they do not have primary access to medical facilities, since they may not be insured, except the emergency room, which is only possible if they were sick and maybe be too late.

It's better to be in America than Nigeria.

Free flight to come home and chill? When commercial airlines travel will be grounded for the rest of the year. How exactly is your so called friend hope to get back to the US, some of them have been interviewed already on arrival and they are not regular immigrants to the US. You had a surgeon on training, business people on business trip, students etc. So according to you people the surgeon should stay back in the US to be driving uber, too many people with poverty mentality on this forum.

The thing with unemployment is that they have to be available for work in the USA. How can they do that when they are in Nigeria?
