I like this picture you posted of Africa. You can see Chad, Ethiopia, Botsawana, Niger and many others are landlocked and doing well.

The one that impresses me is that of Ethiopia. When Eritrea became an independent country, Ethiopia became landlocked. Some people thought that Ethiopia would start begging Eritrea for access to the Sea. Ethiopia developed its Air transport system and started importing and exporting almost everything they want with Airplanes. Today, Ethiopian Airlines is probably the largest Airline in Africa. Testament of wonder
