For how long can we continue to remain in shutdown? We can't afford this nonsense. The death rate is not even bad, let alone scary like it's being painted. 143 deaths in 85 days is nothing compared to the economic and social disasters the government is putting people through. What has the government achieved within these shutdown days? How many new hospitals have they built, what's the new capacity added to the existing hospitals, how many PPEs have been purchased? How many ventilators have they bought? Have many new doctors have been recruited? What's government plan really? To shut down people's livelihood forever and hope that the virus disappears? When this is all over, the shit that will wait for us to pack would be enormous. Viruses only operate within a few months, but economic and social disasters take years to rectify! Nigeria, and subsaharan Africa as a whole do not have the capacity to combat this, and we shouldn't allow ourselves into double jeopardy. |

He said all these because of ABUAD, most private universities can easily put all them in place. But, deep down in him, he knew no government-owned university can implement them satisfactorily. |

Selfish speech. Schools up north where pupils sit on the floor will also resume. How do u think that is possible in our schools where u rush for everything(rush to take lecture,, rush to write test, rush to write exam etc). |

Realdeals:Exactly! Even when schools are finally reopened, only private schools will be able to do most of these precautionary measures. As it were, no public (university, secondary or primary) school can comply with these. What a sorry state public schools are. |

I believe he's making a case for private schools of which population sizes are better organized and managed, you can vouch for that approach in government schools, corruption will fight back just the way it allowed Corona land at the airport and went as far as aso rock unchecked and our Minister's said they were prepared |

This is brilliant but what of transportation from state to state . Interstate lockdown must be lifted. Students come from accross the country. Flights need to be reopened and interstate transport allowed. |

Easy to say... The crowds in my school (uniport)gate everyday (before corona virus) is nothing to right home about. Transportation is a real real issue in our school.. the buses can't take all of us at a time.. except on Saturday's.... Pulling up trucks of water and sanitizers ain't no bad idea, how about those without a fever but who have got it? How about lectures and students who live in schools?.. How about student hostels? ...with compulsory washing of hands at the gate, there sure will be a little crowd will the wicked lecturers we have understand that 7.am class means at least 7:15?.. there is no were in hell that preventing the spread of the virus in a public school such as ours is possible.. you can't stop folks from playing football, from swimming, from walking together. And with teaching hospitals crawling with covid patients, and doctors still teaching medical students, and medical students living having non medica close friends.. there is a risk that schools will be a breeding ground for the virus, which will eventually take over host communities and that's going to be a disaster.... There is no were in hell public schools can provide accommodation for all their students plus masters and other post graduate students ... Won't the students go out to eat? Won't they have to cook?... To me this man's idea is a selfish one |

These people are selfish. They only care about themselves and the money they want to make in tuition fees not because of the development of children. So L.A pry schools, St. Paul's, Nar warudeen, local nursery and pry schools can do all these things he said right? Or does he want some to resume while others don't? Who would fund all these things, can those schools fund the new building facilities, equipments etc. Local villages are not even having ncdc offices. So the Govt that can't feed us for just a day would be able to do all these or Afe Babalola would help the Govt in the fundin? Let them think before they talk abeg |
