Good suggestion from baba. I pray the authorities listen to him
Schools haven't resume, but Corona is spreading fast. Seems you and Afe wants the virus to spread from 5% to 100%. Fūck his suggestion and your own sense of reasoning.

if you open schools you must allow interstate travel meaning easy spread of the virus

another thing, most private universities are known to have very bad health facilities, what they have is sick bays that is run by nurses, imagine a student with covid 19, how will they keep up.

They can actually do this. Before the FG said, we should stop paying acceptance fees. Some of us have paid already and they haven't returned it back, OAU hasn't and some schools too. Although not everyone paid, they can still carry still carry the project to some extent, the FG should help with the rest

Nothing is selfish bro, the fact that federal and state universities can't afford all dis developments doesn't mean private universities students should be affected...Na Dem send us?? all these things he mentioned above can't be provided by federal universities in d next ten years, so it's better those private universities resume, make we dey at d Mercy of ASUU...Lobatan.

when you talk about unis what about ssce student whom suppose to have written exam but still at home what about jamb student who ought to have written Jamb to seek admission into higher institution. our problem in Nigeria is selfcentred. how many public university have access to those things he mention as a kit to fight the virus. some state are still struggling to get testing kit from federal government. it better we don't bite beyond we can chew. student have not resume we are counting infected person in thousand. let look before we leaps.

I see no way this can work in Nigeria institution, this man is talking based on only private institution buh please with what he listed how sure is he that they have a 100% watch over the student activities in order not to be infected or if a student is infected, how will they beforehand so not to affect other student, let not be greedy what this man said cannot work, and moreover is it only higher institution that is on break or the whole academic student when he is giving opinion of resumption what should the other federal and state University do, can they afford all these for now after spending for the corona virus victim, what should the secondary school level do that are to write waec, Is it only Nigeria institutions that is on break.
It is better to stay at home to stay safe than to have a bad name outside, coz if a student is infected am pretty sure it will compounded....

So Stay Home to Stay Safe

Hmm

Not as if the private education entrepreneurs love education as such, they are just so concerned about the amount they are losing from the nonpayment of school fees by the school closure.

Na the parents of the students go still carry the burden of the cost of the mentioned preventive measures, not the school. It will eventually be added to their fees

Exactly. This greedy old man is only concerned about his wallet.

Highly dangerous and reckless when cases are increasing until the cases start to reduce. This man doesn’t have a clue of the reality of what he is suggesting. I have seen all possible scenarios of his suggestion and it plays out with easy spread of the virus just from one contact and it’s everywhere in a skol setting. The virus will even get to him without him knowing.

U want to ask students to chose btwn skol and life?

This would have been a laudable development were the government lovers of education, but as it stands maybe only the private unis can afford and keep up to this, whereas ASUU is still striking. Or better still secondary schools and below. In essence school must resume.
It's not all the time we go about blaming the government. Just look at those simple instructions given by the government before easing up restrictions recently. 99% have failed to abide by them, yet we can't blame ourselves but government?
Let me tell you, 99% of schools both privates and government owned will not put those conditions in places should government go ahead with his suggestion. I even have confidence in government schools meeting up those conditions than the private ones which are only after profit making. We are just too undisciplined citizens.

indeed selfish, if taken I fear there will be more cases to handle.. why not be patient enough till they are able to get this shit under control and moreover how many parents can afford to pay school fees after the resumption abi the term will be free ni? Note: most parents have exhausted their savings on feeding during the Lockdown, no salaries nothing abi teacher go teach with hungry stomach? The government should think before taking any step in resumption..safety comes first else we will have to return to the beginning of the lockdown when things go worst ..my little opinion

Schools will not be reopened until everybody is pricked. Mark my words. What would really be in the prick they would not say.... but would say something else. COVID-19 is the front for an agenda. Fear is the key to get people to embrace the agenda.
Ask youself.... which test shows that someone is positive for COVID-19?... not corona virus.... the strain COVID-19?...the deadly strain? Which test shows that a person has antibodies for COVID-19?...not corona virus.... COVID-19? Any vaccine taken in the past few years had corona virus and allowed the body to develop antibodies to fight corona virus.....not COVID-19. If you are now tested for corona virus antibodies... you will test positive but they will say positive for COVID-19 and label you an asymptomatic carrier. Reason within yourself.... if COVID-19 is sooo highly contagious and deadly.... and soooo silent.... why aren't entire families dropping dead? Ebola was contagious and deadly.... people were dropping dead like flies around anyone that contracted the virus... why not the same with COVID-19?

My strong view.... prophecy must be fulfilled.... the mark of the beast is at our doorsteps.

This can only work out for private uni's because they have the capacity to hostel all their students.

All public tertiary education institutions have an enormous proportion of students in communal relationship with their host community.

It's a no brainer for them. I don't see it working out.

True or false? I guess we'll never know since we are not in your head. grin This is a good solution, but will the government and parent want to take chances, especially with elementary school kids Yes, that's what I thought grin

Re: Afe Babalola: How FG Can Reopen Schools, Universities Within Four Weeks by Nobody: 9:50am On May 12, 2020
This is a welcome suggestion...and parents should be ready to also pay extra for all those equipment that are expected to be prepared by various schools.
Re: Afe Babalola: How FG Can Reopen Schools, Universities Within Four Weeks by Omoluabi16(m): 9:54am On May 12, 2020
I disagree with Mr Afe. Private schools too have a very large population, that would mean interstate travel. It's also a fact that some of these private schools are mushroom, and poorly equipped. Of course do the parents have the means of paying those huge fees? They should rather find a way to digitalize learning for those kids.
