No idea, as they are currently waiting for further instructions to be communicated to them by IRCC. Hopefully in the upcoming weeks (by month end or first week of june), they should start accepting biometrics and paper based applications.

Another error on the Kenya Immigration Officer's (KIO) part. Applicant is applying from his home country, however the responsible Visa officer is not satisfied about his current immigration status in his home country. This tells how inefficient and callous these visa officers can be as they tend not to be reviewing files in its entirety.

The sad aspect of it all is that even the GCMS notes we firmly rely upon for clarity are also generic!, which leaves prospective applicants in the dark as there is no set out system to follow.

You have no option but to order it and share the notes with the members of this thread.

On the other hand, you can address those reasons that were raised in a well articulated context and file for re-application.

Be strong and hope for the best in your next application.

It will end in praise.

Sigh, thank you. Can I send you a mail, please?

Good afternoon guys!!!

I am helping my friend with a study Application in Canada. However his brother is the one sponsoring his education, so he provided a company bank statement and private account statement for 6 months. But I figured in the company bank statement, a lump sum of money was paid into the account on the 2nd and 6th of may 6mil & 33mill respectively while his personal bank statement shows that a deposit of 4mil was made on the 4th may.

Can we still use the statements with such inflow or do we have write a letter of of explanation or is it better we wait till the money has spent a couple of months there before we proceed with the application?

His sponsor (brother) must provide a written explanation as to the origin of the lump sum deposit in his account towards the time of application. Failure to do so will result to a refusal of his application on the basis of financial insufficiency. This would create an impression in the visa officer's mind that the sponsor borrowed these funds with the aim of securing a study visa for the applicant to pursue his education in Canada.

Note: All statements must be accompanied with valid proof.

Good day house

So I have been filing my application and I need clarification on these:

1. Is it normal not to have column to upload medical? because I can't find it on my portal

2. Also, since the schedule 1 form is a page, how do I fill my spouse information?

3. My sponsor is not in Nigeria, can I do the affidavit of support here and have it scanned to him to append his signature?

I look forward to your replies... Thanks.

If you clicked yes on the question in the questionire that says: 'have you lived 6 months or more than in any of the designated countries? You will get a medical request form but if you click no, you wont have the medical request form in the list of forms to submit.

But my question is this, I clicked yes to the question and have the medical request. How do I upload it? I downloaded the form and tried ticking the box yes( do you want to be informed of your medical request but it doesn't safe. Please, how do I submit this form, ticked or not?

1. Have you done medicals before in the last 12 months? You ought to answer yes in the online questionnaire, if you have undergone a medical examination.

2. Is your spouse accompanying you to Canada, if yes, her schedule 1 form will also be provided on the mycic portal.

3. Is your sponsor based aboard? If yes, sponsor should provide a letter of sponsorship and notarize it over there by a notary public officer.

@Lekiboboe can the affidavit of support be done in Nigeria while the said sponsor is in Canada?
I can scan it to him for signing...

Yes he can.....

And it should have like a SEAL Deponent Red Stamp on it....

Deduction
I don't know the relationship BTW u and ur sponsor though...
Jz make sure u portray urself well that' u gonna be coming back to Nigeria (in ur SOP) after ur studies..
Cos there is an assumption which I tot of now, the VO might think since ur sponsor is in CANADA, u might decide to stay and not want to come back to NAIJA I stand to be corrected

To sign a legitimate affidavit, the signee must sign in front of a notary public or legally designated person. Yes, you can type and send it to him but he has to take it to a notary public to sign and stamp wherever he resides.

No your spouse and kids don't have to undergo a medical examination if they aren't accompanying you to Canada in this present application. When it's time for you to file for an open work permit for your spouse and visitors for the kids, your husband in particular will be required to undergo a medical exam prior to a visa issuance.

You can't claim what you don't have. Since you don't have a landed property, a verifiable duly registered business with corporate affairs commission and good tax returns is adequate enough to demonstrate your personal financial establishment in Nigeria. Your immediate family (spouse and kids) are the strongest tie you can ever think of when applying for a Visa to Canada. So, emphasize on your family the most in your application.

Yes I do, before you enter the country, you are told to provide return ticket, you are asked how many months you intend to stay, you are given the months you can stay before entry is granted, everything is documented. So, I am definitely sure I have never disobeyed or broken the rules.

I visit and come back home at the approved timeline.

So sad i just received my rejection mail, reason for rejection
1 based on history of having contravened the conditions of admission on a previous stay in canada
2 family ties in Canada and in your country
3 based on purpose of visit
4 based on personal asset and financial status

Please the first reason can someone explain better

Hello Faith243,

Its really painful seeing one's efforts become ineffectual and futile. In my own perspective, point one was an oversight from the VO. The other points may not have come generic hence point three the obvious reasons your application was pegged to. Its highly advised and expected of you to request for your GCMS notes, if not for anything but for point one.

If the notes doesn't state or lay any emphasis to point one of the refusal reasons in the letter, then its safe to utterly say it was an oversight and reapply by addressing the VO's concerns based on the notes. But however, if the point one is stated and maybe with any serious conscience, then you may consider seeking the advice/help of an experienced immigration lawyer.

The next move or calculation should be after receiving your notes. This determines if you should reapply or go for a judicial review. My curious questions are;

1. Have you been to Canada before now
2. Was it self-applied or agent based application
3. How was your study plan
4. Do you have a sibling who immigrated to Canada through the SP route or other status?
5. Where was your application processed, Nairobi?

Keep the house updated once your GCMS notes arrives and post it here so solutions and advices can be proffered.

All the best

Hello Subbyshal,

Sorry for the outcome of your application, its unfortunate. However, your application is good but still requires some improving. Do well to request for your GCMS notes then proper advice can be rendered afterwards. I have my own queries of my own:

1. You mentioned your dad is the main sponsor, does this mean there is another and if yes, how did you show this person.

2. You mentioned that your dad's main business is real estate, if so, is there other business he does and if yes, how or did you demonstrate this or provide explanations and evidence.

3. Why include so much property/tenancy agreement documents, was it for a reason or created idea and if yes, how did you demonstrate or explain this since its more of an economic and level of establishment justification.

4. How was you study plan and what do you talk about esp your personal/sponsor financial situation.

5. Where was you application processed, Nairobi? and was it a self-applied application.

BTW your notes will be very resourceful in responding to your situation.

All the best
