Be patient. You might also want to check your school's refund policy and if they have moved the semester's start date by some weeks.
Tuition from international students contributes a lot to the Canadian GDP and with this COVID situation, I wouldn't be surprised it Canada becomes more friendly with study permit. Cos student's from Europe and countries like China and other developed countries might be less keen to wanna come study in Canada. Things are changing and Canadian schools are more likely to become desperate for international students.
Canada needs your money too.
Hello House,
I was told to join this forum to help me in getting answers to how i go about the refusal letter i got. I got admitted into Stenberg College to study a PGD in nursing so i had to apply for a work permit since my course have to deal with practical. yesterday, i got the following as reasons for refusal;

Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.
I need help on how to go about this, since school is pushing resumption for September.
Thank you.

Hi Kenny,

No u are not eligible,

Reasons why...
- OHS Program is not directly related to Computer Science
- CGPA (u need at least 2nd Class Upper Honours to be eligible for an M.SC)

Ur best option is to go for a PGC/PGD in a Computer /ICT related Program in a college or university in CANADA..

All da best....Kenny..

Hi All,

Would it be an issue if one has an active Express Entry account when applying for a Canadian study permit. Would it be advisable to delete the EE profile?

Am asking cos the spate of denials are worrisome and one cannot be too careful.

Sternberg college does not offer PGWP eligible programs. I may be wrong but please ensure you double check.

P.s If your plan is to study in Canada and come back immediately post graduation to turn Nigeria's health care to paradise, then you are good but if you plan to stay in Canada post graduation, please check that school again. All the best.

I saw on MUN website that fall semester will be online apart from some select departments like school of medicine, nursing, and marine.

Is it possible for the Visa officer to dish out refusals if they check with your school and see that your program will be online?

Secondly since I have this information that fall semester for my program will be online, is there any point submitting my application for study permit?

By the way my program is MBA

Man, a lot of people are making money here. If you earn 2m per month in Canada, you would spend the money on tax my friend while here all things go.

See, let us bone them for now I tell you. They will sit up.

The bolded, where do you people get all this information from? grin

I do agree though that some people are making cool cash in Nigeria and have no reason to be in Canada or at best, they should relocate to Canada with a PR and not a study permit.

The bolded, you cannot be refused because your program will be online.

You can submit your application, get your visa and defer to next session if you do not want to be taught online.

I think I mentioned it some days back on here, most schools are considering having fall classes online.

I noticed 3 applicants submitted almost 25 documents for an online application... wetin happen? That's way too much documents for an online application. You can do that for Paper application, not online.

Do you know the reason why most of you are being refused is because the visa officers cannot even see and clearly read your documents because you have had to shrink and shrink those documents to fit? You all are submitting too much documents.

I can't even understand why anyone needs to submit 25 documents for an online application.

Please I beg you in God's name, for online applications, submit only few necessary documents.

My opinion, you don't need the following

Toefl, Gmat reports, waec (Your Letter of admission LOA is enough). If these documents were listed in your LOA, then you can include them but if they were not listed, totally not necessary.

Cost of living estimate from school website: Not necessary. IRCC already know you need at least 10,000 Cad in your SOA.

Siblings birth certificates is not necessary. You already listed them in the form and they are not your sponsors.

So sorry for your visa denial but I think you should have moved to Canada alone first then apply for an open work permit for your spouse and visiting visa for your kids.your balance is way too low for and international student travelling with her family. Maybe you should adjust the following and reapply. Best wishes

Really ?

I got admission in university of Regina to study System Engineering at undergraduate level..

I applied for visa on February 15, 2020 ,

I was refused on April 7, 2020

But am not quitting, I can't waste all these time and money then quit, never..
Quitting is never in my dictionary..

So,

My own point of view.

Let it be true that I have high chances of visa approval ..

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) and Rural Northern Immigration Pilot Program (ANIP). With these two programs you can successfully migrate to Canada as a PR. The AIPP route is the easiest and fastest route if you have a job offer in Canada and the POF for these programs are relatively lower. AIPP POF goes for - $3,240CAD while ANIP is 7,000CAD.

Now I understand why these increase in refusal...

Most schools moved their may classes to fall while some holds it online...

Even those that got visa for may was advice through their school account via email to shift their traveling to fall ....

The VOs now sees it as an opportunity to reject some applications to keep their work going...

No work no pay

The reapplication fee will go a long way to pay their salaries lol

Hi @Chukwuemeka101,

Your observation is totally wrong. Canada doesn't use your application fee to pay immigration officers. Also, online classes doesn't affect visa applications. Canada is not Nigeria. In fact, it has nothing to do with it. Be guided!

Don't spend all your energy looking for fault in a working system, rather, spend your energy on how to get a successful application. Again, be guided. Don't discourage people and don't create unnecessary panic.

We will be alright las las! We won't give up!
