In essence this woman is saying, close to 50 percent of the budget would be used to finance debt. When Buhari and his bunch of "association of present criminals " take their cut, what would be left?

This country is being messed up on a massive scale!

I guess that was what they meant by; "next level ".

That's what happens when the price of oil falls below the breakeven price.

Budget deficits.

Nigeria must diversify its economy away from oil...

The national Assembly should go on lockdown for a year. Let them find jobs or return to their businesses for now. The expenses they rake is too much and there's no money for now.

You can't be putting on agbada well starched & iron and the people you claim you're representing are suffering.

Let's see down and face the glaring reality before us. We can't continue like this.
It will come to that, sooner or later there will be revolution

After all the lies of how Buhari has opened up the economy and diversified our revenue sources, the chips are now down and the truth is open for some fools that believe this government; it is still crude oil or nothing. Touch crude oil and Nigeria is finished

Dear Cdes,

With all the irregularities in salaries nd several complaints on IPPIS i have read so far. Its very clear that IPPIS is a big scam. Permit me to term it, Scam of the Century. We must all join hands to defeat this demon or else it will crumble us bit by bit. Although, i am aware that their paid agent wil come online to console you "oh IPPIS is the best,oh! these irregularities were faced by MDAs that enrolled on IPPIS earlier, oh! IPPIS wil be good someday etc". Lies of the Century i will term all these statements. How on earth can a perfect system/software  pay A, omit B, overpay C, underpay D, etc. IPPIS often put smiles on very few and high blood pressure on many others. Infact, IPPIS is enough to kill. It is because we are Nigerians, a happy nation, we find humor in the good and the bad, the reason many are still alive despite this Covid-19 Salary Package. On my Suprise of the Century, the rate at which FG rush to the media to announce that they have been able to save billions through IPPIS, they would have published the names of ghost workers recorded so far I will suggest.
These are my recommendations;
1. FG should revert to GIFMIS, since IPPIS has proven to be ineffective.
2. UTAS as suggested by ASUU should be considered and implemented.

Others include:
3. IPPIS could be decentralized, with IPPIS staff on each of our tertiary institutions. It seems IPPIS could not handle the large number of Federal Tertiary Institution staff members.
4. All deductions should be revisited and re-negotiated, most especially, union due, tax and NHS deductions. About 99% of staff members are not in full support of NHS, why will Government enforce the scheme on all? And can the Nigerian Govt i know build a house for all her workers? NHS should be voluntary .

Meanwhile, Let us all set our differences aside, all unions must come together, be it NASU, SSANU, NAAT, JAC and say #NoToIPPIS.

FG discloses how it will finance N5.36 trillion budget deficit
FG intends financing the N5.36 trillion budget deficit through domestic, foreign loans and proceeds from privatisations.

Federal Government of Nigeria has said that it would finance the N5.36 trillion budget deficit through domestic, foreign loans and proceeds from privatisations. This was disclosed by the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

The Minister told Reuters that the cabinet approved a revised budget of N10.52 trillion at the meeting, against the N10.59 trillion approved earlier. Ahmed added that expenditures related to COVID-19, which was not included in the budget, has been added to it.

The revised budget, which requires the approval of the National Assembly, was based on assumption that crude oil price would be at $25 per barrel, the output of 1.94 million barrels per day and an exchange rate of N360 to $1.

Meanwhile, it appears the government has changed its mind over budget reduction, as it acted differently from what it said about two months earlier. The finance minister had said in March that the N10.59 trillion budget would be reduced by 15% due to the global oil prices crisis, which is about N1.58 trillion. But Ahmed announced only a reduction of N71.5 billion only.

“It is not good to keep on borrowing on a yearly basis to finance deficit budget when a lot of very valuable national assets are lying fallow and moribund. Proceeds from outright privatisation or concession of the moribund assets should serve as the best alternative in funding yearly budget deficits since the assets are more or less becoming national liabilities.

“There are about 600 state-owned enterprises in the country which gulp not less than $3 billion on a yearly basis with little or no returns into the public purpose,” he said

Can't the service Chiefs use sense for once....but no, they are all "YES MEN" if the Army don't want to be quenching revolution and fighting Boko Haram at the same time, they should just sack all this useless politicians to the ward level. ban all of them from politics, draw a 6 month transition plans..with new bloods..

Ban the useless Senates

and any interested persons that want to join the new civilian govt elections, the army should warn him/her very well.

well what do I know

I am just giving an opinion
if the Army can't do that, I am sorry to say this, sooner or later, they will be fighting to quell revolution and Boko Haram...God forbid this country turns to another Libya or Afghanistan.

If the kids are so hungry that the government has to feed them, it implies that their parents are poor. Shouldn't a responsible government be thinking of how to lift these parents out of poverty so that they can feed their kids themselves?

With a start up of 50k, the #670m will be able to raise13400 petty traders DAILY! who will in turn be able to cater for their kids. In a month, about 400 000 people would have been touched. Whatever the Government gets in repayment would be used to cater for new beneficiaries until it goes round.

Isn't this better than the controversial and possibly corruption-ridden feeding program?

If the NASS failed to arrest this situation, I will conclude that they are complicit in this mismanagement of our scarce resources.
The people are their own enemies, during elections they don't vote for who will solve their problems they follow propaganda, religion, tribe and party, ignoring the essence of periodical election
Their problems remains with them, because my people lack knowledge, which is what the political class is using against them to continue to subjugate them

While you began your comment/submission well, I find it very hard to believe that despite all we've heard and seen in this country, you're yet to conclude that members of NASS who earn unjustifiable ludicrous monthly jumbo pay are not already complicit in the mismanagement of our scarce resources before today.
You really surprise me sir.
