I Think Paypal Is Just Being Wicked To Nigerians by Nobody: 10:55am On May 15, 2020
I'm building a new online store on Wordpress with woocommerce and the payment gateway part has been bothering me a lot. I read somewhere that with a Nigerian Paypal business account one can receive payment directly from their website. I decided to register for a business PayPal account.
I noticed that there were some key features missing on my account. I couldn't link my account to my website.
I messaged them to inform them of my findings and I got the breaking news this morning. e pain me die sha.

They said Nigerian accounts can't receive payment with Paypal because of Paypal's non-compliance with the Nigerian Financial regulation.
That means they're just treating us this bad on their own accord. Come to think of it, Payoneer accept Nigerians to send and receive money easily. It's just too bad that Paypal is the world's most popular payment gateway.

I just really feel bad about my Nationality right now. Country nor get job to give her citizen, Citizen still tries to create a business for himself, country want still crash his hope.. God knows that my Kids WILL NEVER suffer these limitations I'm facing right now.

Abeg who know any better international payment gateway alternative I fit use for my online store? Most of my target audience are foreigners.

Are you minding the goat. Paypal mentioned "financial regulation", he's there saying rubbish.

My man, @op, I think it has to do with Nigeria's forex policy. I'm not too sure but I'll hazard a guess.

Asides that, I think you have to maintain an account in naira in Nigeria to be able to operate and paypal being dollar-ccentric will see that as a bad investment.

And then information sharing; Nigeria may not be so keen to release numerous information upon information of its citizens to paypal. If you are familiar with paypal US, they usually ask for information uponinformation just to verify you when you have an issue with them, they go as for as asking foryour tax info(lots of info that does not concern them).

But hey, I may be wrong but then, these may be some of the financial regulations they can't work with.

You can try using stripe. Look for ways around PayPal. See if you can create an American PayPal account using a VPN and then sending money from there to your payoneer account. There has to be ways. As for Nigeria, the country is doomed and finished you are smart by not wanting your kids being born in the zoological republic.

Can you integrate Payoneer to receive payment on your website?

If you are to make a purchase online on a non trusted website, would You risk your card when you have PayPal that offer more benefits?

Dont compare PayPal with Payoneer, they are not mates....
If dropshippping is your plan, better you read PayPal terms and conditions before they send you to the village if you eventually find your way round it, PayPal hates dropshippping....

Bottom line, PayPal does not give Nigeria full benefits for reasons best known to them. Don't blame them when you have government who can appeal on your behalf.

Blame your government and the other guys (you know them)

It is nothing personal bro. I think it has to do with their chargeback policy. Nigeria financial regulation doesn't support that.

Bro you don't have to blame PayPal here. The quoted part clearly says it all. Nigerian financial system support frauds.

By the way i am currently in the process of getting a UK business PayPal account.

We are all in it together.

Paystack is the best payment gateway right now for nigerians.... Rave by fluterwave payment forms sucks.
