adrusa:We will critically derail this thread if we dwell on this discourse... I put it to you that no University staff will say people had to be bribed in Abuja to release money or to fix money/salaries in the banks.. That nonsense happened during the Abacha Era, so it calls to question your knowledge on the workings and peculiarities of the University system... Even before GIFMIS was comprehensively deployed in 2015....university staff used to have their salaries very early...so what is the novelty in your IPPIS defense? Abeg leave matter jare. Make we discuss Solar... |

jmaine:@bolded. Bro, dey there dey hope. Noble IPPIS itself got bastardised and desk officers begun to mediate between staff in parastatals and Abuja peeps. Eeeenough bribery to get salary arrears posted to you from Abuja. Uncommon with regular salaries, but usually common with months of accumulated arrears, sometimes as much as 10% of the total amount to be disbursed will be demanded for as lubricant by Abuja peeps. Despite this, GIFMIS however is the greater devil and riddled with worse lie. Sorry, na solar thread we dey. ![]() |

ceaser:In my university as well as others I am conversant with, our experience with GIFMIS has been pretty easy and seamless. When any issues arise, you just walk up to the bursary and complain, e sure die say 100% dem go settle that matter.. Getting our promotion arrears has been a walk in the park, steady and consistent salary payment without complaints. Offcourse, the University Admin can easily perpetrate their payroll frauds, only an idiot will defend the Universities administration. Although around 2017,we were informed the GIFMIS platform was upgraded with multiple layers of security checks. So if any fraud dey, be rest assured that people wey sign-off know wetin dey, and dem plenty. The same IPPIS payed lecturers who weren't captured, now tell me if the people in Abuja won't be able to load the system with their data whenever they deem it. This Naija na cruise, we must look for means circumvent things for selfish gains.. In all my ogas... I don finally drop my bat... ... |

Assuming I have 15KVA inverter and 48V/400AH battery bank. How many panels will charge within 4 hours and sustain a load of 10KW during sun hours? |

Since we are assuming here I will first suggest that getting an inverter that can help you prioritize the charging current is very important. For your battery bank, you need 80A max. To charge without stressing the cells So that will require 5.5Kw - 4.6Kw of PC array to charge within 2-4 hours max. (Ideally) For your loads you will require minimum of 12.6Kw based on efficiency list and all plus irradiance variations. This being trashed. With a programmable inverter. ...say Hybrid ..you can set max. Charge to battery and direct the rest to the loads. And in low sun shine days .. your battery can help you out. Stay safe and enjoy the weekend. ojtech8291 post :-=89602037: |

olopan:errrm, i think the first advice is: placing 10kw load on a 48v 400ah bank is a big NO NO. Using C/10 rule, maz load you should place on the bank is about 2kw. for lead acid battery, even LIPO4 bank may not be able to handle such a huge instantenous load. even if you counter and say the panel will handle the load, you and i know that panel harvest isnt steady, cos you need to be assured of steady 8kw minimum from the panels to surport the bank to carry the load at all times |

Pls guys I am planning 24v system, my 2 solar panels is around 17amp, 150w, i am planning to connect them in parallel to achieve 300w will the 17amp be okay for my 24v system? Meanwhile Battery is 100amp=2 in series Inverter = pure sinewave 1500W Mppt cc=60amps |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ojeysky(m): 1:56pm On May 16, 2020 |
earthrealm:LFP will be fine with more than C/10 but the limitation will then set in on the BMS of the LFP. Most BMS are 100A but if he can go for high capacity BMS then he should be fine pulling up to 0.5C concurrent with burst allowance without negative effect on the bank. Nevertheless the higher he pull from a charge 400Ah the lower backup time, so as you've stated he certainly will need significant PV array! I will say 12 to 15kw and above. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by earthrealm(m): 3:37pm On May 16, 2020 |
Topmaike007:for a 24v system, you are better off connecting the panels in series. 300w is just about right for 1 unit 12v 200ah battery, however 450w would be excellent, takes care of losses, and poor solar days, wrong inclination etc...as depending on your setup, you may be seeing only 200w to 240w max instantenous harvest..and not the 300w installed |
