Hello guy no one knows everything so let's share and learn. What is the differences?

Almost alike , but diffrent father

Being religious means you believe in God through a particular religion or belief

Being spiritual means you are a god. (being religious has rules, spiritual doesn't

Some people believe being religious means looking up to God while being spiritual means looking for God

Lets learn sha. Na my own input be that

They're literally THE SAME, but in a sense:

Being Religious = Old covenant life/Living under the Law (either by Moses, Pastors or other Men).

Being Spiritual = Living by faith in Obedience to Jesus/Under grace in Christ.

Summary:

Religious = Law/OLD covenant/External
Spiritual = Love/faith/Obedience to Jesus/INTERNAL first, then external (New covenant)

Examples:

Pharisees and Religious doctors/teachers = Religious

Spiritual = Jesus (and his followers like Paul, etc)

Who also hath made us able ministers of the NEW testament; NOT of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter Killeth, but the spirit giveth li

In reality there is no difference between the two it seems, because the vast majority of those who claim to be spiritual, are in fact just religious and not much else.

Jesus never claimed to be spiritual in his dealings with his disciples though, and He condemned religious living of all kinds. It was the pharisees who claimed all sorts of spiritual and ancestral connection to God.
In my experience, Spiritual Christians are simply religious Christians with a more NT leaning take on their religion. Majority of them tend to be Paulians(they like to take the words of Paul out of context); they are just Christianities download of the "Pharisee" bug...

But i think spirituality entails some kinda ritual/fetish

Being religious is just u believing in a supernatural being.

Some people go into radical amd extreme ways to really prove a point

U see people taking bath with human blood, some eating flesh of a other people because they wanna forge themselves into somtin, some using razor blades to give themsefs a sign on their body, so many radical means spirituality leads them too.

So being religious is plain and simple
Spirituality entails more. In the past people were more spiritual than now.

Mayb religion is just a less radical and simple version of spirituality.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

More like spirituality is just another religion, complete with it's traditions and rules. And yes, religions can exist within religions.

Since Jesus is truth and logically truth can only have one meaning. I don't play the "let's agree to disagree" card anymore. Cause that would be submitting to accepting and endorsing a lie.

Paul did not speak there of what people know as SPIRITUALITY today. Please read from a translation that is in plain English to better understand what is written.

Romans 8 vs 6(ERV)
6. If your thinking is controlled by your sinful self, there is spiritual death. But if your thinking is controlled by the Spirit, there is life and peace. 7 Why is this true? Because anyone whose thinking is controlled by their sinful self is against God. They refuse to obey God’s law. And really they are not able to obey it. 8 Those who are ruled by their sinful selves cannot please God.

What is the differences?

Spiritual, is of above. Religious, is on below.

Spiritual is up. Religious is down.

Spiritual is heavenly. Religious is earthly.

Spiritual is divine. Religious is human.

Spiritual is immortal. Religious is mortal.

The religious man subjects himself to a set of rules or laws. He doesn't steal, fornicate, tell lies, etc. He doesn't subject himself to the giver of the laws, neither does he have a relationship with Him, but he'd rather subject himself to the laws themselves.He is therefore a moral being who may have, or may not have the Spirit of God in him. He lives by these laws and judges others by the standards of the laws. Because laws come with punishments, the religious man is not acquainted with mercy and grace!

However, the spiritual man subjects himself to the guidance of the Spirit inside of him.
He gets his inspiration from Proverbs 3:5-6:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

Through the energy and direction of the Spirit he makes decisions and is able to obey the laws unlike the religious man that draws strength from the flesh. He maintains an unbroken relationship with the Spirit inside of him. To this man, what is most important is , "what says the Spirit of God?"
