Hmmm, Africans with culture. First of all, it's not a sin or disrespect to God so long you're not dressing to impress people. It is worn a lot to church in the US and Canada. But you shd know it's their culture there.

Now hear this, I'm trying to bring out a point...The essence of you being born again is to win souls and bring more people to the Lord by depopulating hell. You're a vine and you shouldn't be comfortable not bearing fruits. In fact if bearing fruits does not bother you, then the genuineness of your christainity is questionable. If you're genuinely sold out to God, you definitely will have a burning passion to bring other people to God.

Now this is Africa, Nigeria precisely. You know the belief of the people around whom you live. They said if a person promises you a shirt, the commonsensical thing to do is look at the one he/she is wearing. A poor person can't make another poor person rich, you need to be liberated to liberate someone else. When they study your life as a Christian and the way u dress to church, it will be a matter of the evangelist himself needs help; that if being a xtain does not improve your sense of responsibility in dressing, then why should I be like you. Think about that.

So to dress smart and look sporty in knickers is not a bad idea. But being a genuine and fruit-bearing xtain is the essence of going to church.

Whatever you wear or outfits to the gathering doesn’t show any respect or disrespect to God. It only shows respect and disrespects on you and the other members of the congregation, not God.

Any code of dressing GOD decree we should wear to church

Theres what we call etiquette which should be observed in every social gathering. If you can't dress or wear a short to your office, why do you think it proper to wear it to church? Spirituality aside, what is not appropriate is not appropriate. You are expected to dress decently at all times regardless of where it is you're going to and I believe the house of God should be respected in that regards. Even the schools will not condone such dressing. So let's know the right thing and do it.

Even organizations and other social settings will frown at such dressing which you also know and you're here trying to preach what is not. Moral behavior/ etiquettes must be observed anywhere and everywhere at all times. Period!

What are you implying at the bolded? And mind you, Church is not you and your heart but you and the other brethren gathered together to fellowship. And we're not practising 'western' culture but trying to do what is right.

You are not practicing western culture, what is the basis of the Christianity you practise?
Oh, it is an eastern culture.
You could have gone to church in those ancient outfits and set the church up in a traditional way to worship.

Bearing fruits means fruits of repentance (love, humility, long-suffering etc). That is a change in orientation. Why Jesus said "by their fruits you shall know them". He definitely was not saying a Christian will be known by his type of followers. Apart from the fact that nobody wins souls for God. We were enjoined to preach the word. The winning part is for the Holy Spirit.

Mind you, there are various forms of etiquettes which applies to different sectors of society.
There are etiquettes of the school,
Etiquettes of the office,
Etiquettes of the church and so on. Just like it is wrong to make phone calls in the church auditorium when service is going on but right in an office settings when operations are goin on. Even pastors observe etiquettes of the pulpit. Eg not leaning on the pulpit when preaching. Its about your manners and how well behaved youre expected to be when in the midst of other people and everyone one has their types of etiquettes that guide them.

The same way bible said women should not wear men's garment and likewise for men. Please ask me, who created clothing and made it men's wear and women's wear, no be man??
