Rochas has his fault and failed in many areas but no one can take away the facelift he gave to Owerri. I lost my way when I went to Owerri after being away for only a short period. Massive development. In terms of real estate, Igbos are trying. Everyone is thinking home gradually. Seems there's a new trend now, everyone is building his mansion in Owerri. While the state capital is known for education and hospitality, I wish some can take advantage of this and start building industries in neighbouring towns. Orlu is developing too. Seems Okigwe is left out.
Thank you Rochas for your contributions even though you disappointed us in many areas.

Rochas sacrificed development of Orlu and Okigwe for development of Owerri.

No governor from Owerri zone can ever contemplate any real development or modernization of any other town in Imo state outside Owerri.

You think I'm gonna stoop so low on a Sunday to have a chatter with you? Nobody cares what happen over there. Stop flooding nairaland with whatever that happen in your whatever region you call it. If your region is damn conducive as you claimed, you and your kinsmen won't be dying to have Lagos alone to yourselves. What's the economic sense in having empty houses littered in your region while the owners live in Southwest doing spare parts biz or you think we don't know? Ọdẹ ọmọ

See who's talking, we fought for independence from this contraption called Nigeria, your fathers fought against us opting out.

If you love Nigeria more, what are you doing in Imo state thread? Does it look like Ogbomosho? You won't see a Ghanaian on this thread?

Yeah I agree the state is very free from dirts and as some nice views. The only thing I don't like during my three day visit was the house of assembly building wall painting that was very old. I could not really go around because I don't know anyone there but I only visited an old friend at sun heaven hote anyway I miss immaculate hotel. There meal was great but I had to go look for good fufu on the street because those butter food tire me lol

Owerri is beautiful no denying and Surprisingly they don't brag like Enugu people. Owerri beats Enugu in development and beauty by far, yet they won't let us drink water and cup because of independent layout and New Haven. Red earth everywhere making it look like farm road.

This picture is for none igbos especailly ignorant untravelled Afon, who assumes that igbos show pictures of only rich areas and not where the ordinary man lives.

Now, look through the picture, what do you see? A forest right? Yes! That’s what it is. Those are the ordinary citizens. They buy land, build their taste, and before you know it, the whole place organically forms a collection of beautiful looking residential buildings. This is not a GRA, it’s just different individuals Who bought the land years back, probably when it was cheaper and now ready to build their homes.

Some of these areas don’t even have good roads, but trust that the neighbor and buildings are dope. It is after a long time government remembers them, to build their road and drainage. In some places, the landlord contribute to build their roads...

This is why igbos are called developers. Changing the landscape of every where they find themselves, with real estate development.

If you come back here in 5yrs time to snap pictures, when most of this place would have been developed, you will think it’s an estate or Gra, naaaa! It isn’t. It’s just a hood.

Pray for the day Owerri man shall accept that Owerri alone does not make Imo state.

For now, it’s hard to understand why an average man or woman from Owerri zone believes that Imo state was created for development of only Owerri, because Owerri was named capital of Imo state.
Since Owerri people believe that all government institutions must remain in Owerri, that only Owerri shall have govt infrastructures like water supply, boulevards, etc, do they not know that Owerri shall soon become a junk city as more and more people from Okigwe and Orlu areas migrate to Owerri?

As for your claims about me being a lagosian, it was meant to be a response to another olórí pẹlẹbẹ like you Which I quickly corrected. Perhaps you think an average Yoruba man is happy being in the same country with ingrates like you lots, I don't know. You hate us but we hate you more.
Hate kee u there.. we don't hate Yoruba cos They are presently below our match.. Jealousy forced your tribe on hating us..

When it comes to self development, building houses and developing regions, Igbos are the number one for now. Other tribes are only learning fast from the Igbos.

Igbos are the only tribe in Nigeria that own majority of properties in all Nigerian states. Igbos build everywhere without fear of loosing the property to indigenes like they lost after the Biafra Nigeria civil war. It is the spirit of development, progress, prosperity and forward ever backward never in an average Igbo man.

Igbos are the only Nigerian tribe pracrising one Nigeria without hypocrisy; they travel to all parts of Nigeria, invest there, live peacefully with the indigenes and even marry from where they live. But watch other tribes, they hardly invest outside their state or region....most fear to invest in Igbo states just because of their bad blood and fear of what I don't know.

Please Nigerians learn from Igbos, travel to other states, invest there, don't make billions from a community outside your town and out of cunning nature decide not to build or invest in that community, it is wickedness, every tribe can become developers like Igbos cool
