Dear Nairalanders, pls I need Ur candid advice.
I have a younger brother who just left Sec. sch. I discussed with him about acquiring a skill before continuing his education, he accepted my proposal, but couldn't say exactly the skills he would love to acquire. I currently have two things in mind, Barbing and phone repairing,(I would also be grateful if any one has any other skill he/she considers worthy enough) but, I'm I'm not so sure the one to choose for him, having in mind that these could be the only skill he might likely acquire and build his life on, I decided to seek for advice. pls respectable comrades, do give good reasons for which ever one you would lovingly advice he goes for. thanks.

Tell him to go for barbing. Reason being that once he learns it very well all he needs is some money to rent and furnish a shop in a very good location, and he's good to go. He will be independent and wouldn't have to rely on the skills of anyone to sustain his business.

Phone repairs on the other hand varies, I've fixed a couple of phones I've used in the past before and it can confidently tell you that not all phone technicians actually know what they're doing.

Most can't fix complicated issues and rely on other experienced technicians to help them out this means that the profit will be shared with the more experienced third party. Truth is the business isn't as lucrative as it seems.

He's cool with any of the above mentioned. it's jxt mine to make the final decision. I'm only indifferent because I'm not so sure which one is better financially and career wise.
