The Kogi , Benue that are more closer to River Niger, why are they not making use of it?

To my best of understanding, Nigeria government never shipped anything through this same River Niger, not to talk of other members state.

BTW, hope you people are not considering dredging una swimming pool ( Rivers) just to get access to the sea... The ecological factor is there except if you people want Greta Thunberg to come and lead the protest against it in Nigeria.

Now, compare Nigerians (which you assume were all Yorubas) who were against Biafrans during MASSOB's era to the numbers of Nigerians who are against Biafra now courtesy of Kanu/IPOB.

The so-called strategy you are saying may only work if Kanu is a Tribal war Lord, leading a guerilla war against Nigeria to allow seccession of Buafra.

For peaceful secession of Biafrans by the conduct of Referendum, you will need the support and cooperation of non- Igbo Nigerians.
You don't deliberately antagonize people that you need their support/cooperation.

Apart from the restoration of Biafra, Kanu/IPOB are making it difficult for Igbos to have allies/sympathizers in the Nigerian project.

Igboid:
I have been on this forum since 2007. This particular moniker is just one of my many monikers here.

I am an old timer on this.
MASSOB and Billie who never uttered any words towards Yorubas, received relentless mocking and bashing on this forum.
Yorubas campaigned for their arrests by Nigeria security agencies and rejoiced heartily whenever new of MASSOB members brutalisation at the hands of Nigerian police or Miltary came up here.

So you can spare me the talks of Nnamdi Kanu.

Nnamdi Kanu noticed that many Igbos are attached to Nigeria because of their associations with Yorubas and other Nigerians.
NK wanted to break those ties, so he hit up the polity to intensify Yoruba Igbophobic nature and expose and docile Igbos to them, in hope to make them to detach themselves from Nigeria and Yorubas and lean more towards Igbo nationalism.
And it's working.

It's a dirty method, but it's yielding results and have its place in the struggle.

River Niger source is Guinea and empties into the Atlantic ocean.

Oh just shut it already. Rwanda is also landlocked and padlocked but no African country is doing better than them in any human development index presently. Its not about natural resources even not access to the ocean but it is about human capital resources which tbe Igbos have in abundance.

A country called Singapore or even Japan are not known to have any natural resources aside there human resources which has been a blessing to them and yes, the world envy them.

I'm not Igbo for your information. Every region and people in Nigeria should be allowed to leave if majority of them so wish. Igbos will never be happy nor be at their best if we keep holding them down in this contraception. I'm supporting them because their independence will pave way for others alike to freedom. Nigeria isn't a country to be proud of and I can't see any future in its continuous togetherness. Peace.

I still don't understand why the yorubas keep jumping into every thread to list the disadvantages of igbos leaving nigeria for biafra. Can someone explain it to me? Igbos want to leave, you are against that. Igbos remain in nigeria, you are against that. Igbos talk about being president, you are against that. Igbos don't talk about being president, you are against that too. I mean, what's with all these?
They're not against dominating Igbo people though. They just want to benefit from whatever it is we have to offer.

We offer religious and political balance to the country. We also generate funds for Lagos, which is the only livable city/state in the SW.

This landlocked argument is supposed to act as a deterrent. To make us change our minds about leaving Nigeria. Since there are no real benefits to being a part of Nigeria, they've chosen to focus on our perceived disadvantages and have fixated on it.

I really don't know how Yorubas got involved in discussion about a river Niger that does not pass through Yoruba land.

I think a more important discussion should be the possibility of navigating the river with the existence of Niger bridge 1&2. Another issue is that of depth and width. The Niger river is known to be shallow and narrow at so many places same with that Imo river. It will be interesting to see if the riverine areas as an independent country will allow dredging with its impact on their already fragile environment.

Most young and overzealous Biafrans wrongly assume that the Yoruba people are particularly against the creation of their utopian Country.

The Yorubas aren't the reason why Biafran hasn't materialized.

The real reason is because those who TRULY want Biafra are in the minority and they don't have any political war to push it through.
They are mostly Okada riders, traders, farmers etc.

Most Buafran enthusiastists are only doing so ONLINE, they have no REAL intention to see it created.

If all the State Houses of Assembly in Igbo States have passed a resolution calling for the restoration of Biafra and all their Senators are lobbying other senators to move the same motions in the National Assembly, the whole world will start taking them seriousl.
This is particularly true. The idea of Biafra only has traction among the lower and middle class on the internet. No federal lawmaker from the east or governor has ever mentioned anything in that regard. It looks more like a political propaganda than a nationalist movement.

The river in your village is an international waterway also?

Bros, calm down.

Don't take all these Biafra stuff very serious.

No tribe/Region is truly planning to seceed. There's no elements of seriousness in it.

All these present agitations look more like a propaganda to blackmail the rest of Nigeria into giving the agitatators and their tribe some political concessions .

You can even navigate from the Atlantic Ocean to Niger Republic and Mali by passing through the River Niger.

Dats not true. Why has Niger or Mali not used it to transport goods since "nobody get am". Even the Atlantic ocean you talked about, there's a portion of it that belongs to the country closest to it.
If it's international waterway, why did Nigeria build Niger bridge on it and is building another one. Or did they take permission from the international maritime authority before building those bridges? Again, why did we have to enter into a plea with Niger when we wanted to build Niger dam when we could have just approached the international authority to stop Niger from damming their own part of the river. Lastly, why is river Niger under the control of NIWA if it's international waters?
