Now, compare Nigerians (which you assume were all Yorubas) who were against Biafrans during MASSOB's era to the numbers of Nigerians who are against Biafra now courtesy of Kanu/IPOB. The so-called strategy you are saying may only work if Kanu is a Tribal war Lord, leading a guerilla war against Nigeria to allow seccession of Buafra. For peaceful secession of Biafrans by the conduct of Referendum, you will need the support and cooperation of non- Igbo Nigerians. You don't deliberately antagonize people that you need their support/cooperation. Apart from the restoration of Biafra, Kanu/IPOB are making it difficult for Igbos to have allies/sympathizers in the Nigerian project. Igboid: |

helinues:Oh just shut it already. Rwanda is also landlocked and padlocked but no African country is doing better than them in any human development index presently. Its not about natural resources even not access to the ocean but it is about human capital resources which tbe Igbos have in abundance. A country called Singapore or even Japan are not known to have any natural resources aside there human resources which has been a blessing to them and yes, the world envy them. I'm not Igbo for your information. Every region and people in Nigeria should be allowed to leave if majority of them so wish. Igbos will never be happy nor be at their best if we keep holding them down in this contraception. I'm supporting them because their independence will pave way for others alike to freedom. Nigeria isn't a country to be proud of and I can't see any future in its continuous togetherness. Peace. |

We also generate funds for Lagos, which is the only livable city/state in the SW. This landlocked argument is supposed to act as a deterrent. To make us change our minds about leaving Nigeria. Since there are no real benefits to being a part of Nigeria, they've chosen to focus on our perceived disadvantages and have fixated on it. |

I really don't know how Yorubas got involved in discussion about a river Niger that does not pass through Yoruba land. I think a more important discussion should be the possibility of navigating the river with the existence of Niger bridge 1&2. Another issue is that of depth and width. The Niger river is known to be shallow and narrow at so many places same with that Imo river. It will be interesting to see if the riverine areas as an independent country will allow dredging with its impact on their already fragile environment. |

oyatz:This is particularly true. The idea of Biafra only has traction among the lower and middle class on the internet. No federal lawmaker from the east or governor has ever mentioned anything in that regard. It looks more like a political propaganda than a nationalist movement. |

Bros, calm down. Don't take all these Biafra stuff very serious. No tribe/Region is truly planning to seceed. There's no elements of seriousness in it. All these present agitations look more like a propaganda to blackmail the rest of Nigeria into giving the agitatators and their tribe some political concessions . ahaz: |

You are very correct sir. You can even navigate from the Atlantic Ocean to Niger Republic and Mali by passing through the River Niger. post=89756758: |
| Re: Those From West Are Still Ignorant On River Niger by Agboriotejoye(m): 1:40pm On May 20, 2020 |
ProT:Dats not true. Why has Niger or Mali not used it to transport goods since "nobody get am". Even the Atlantic ocean you talked about, there's a portion of it that belongs to the country closest to it. If it's international waterway, why did Nigeria build Niger bridge on it and is building another one. Or did they take permission from the international maritime authority before building those bridges? Again, why did we have to enter into a plea with Niger when we wanted to build Niger dam when we could have just approached the international authority to stop Niger from damming their own part of the river. Lastly, why is river Niger under the control of NIWA if it's international waters? |
