Congrats to her. Probably one of the asymptomatic cases. Her immune system must have battled the virus while she remained strong.

The problem is that such people pose a great danger to those around them until the virus runs it's course within them and they're Coronavirus free...test negative. They can infect many people without falling ill.

Pls don't try to explain what you don't understand, that woman is almost 60 years old, how on earth could her immunity be that strong after being detained with all the psychological and emotional stress for nearly two months. Even when she was with her family members moving around and eating with them here in Makurdi no body was infected. Governors are cashing out, and you don't want Benue to partake? Haba Bros, make you ma think na, why would they at last released somebody that is positive back to the society? you think the authorities are foolish? They would have done this long ago but they are just ashame.

Positive from what? As at her 43-days there, they have done three separate test but she was never shown the result. I love the fact that she remain adamant not to receive any medication from them. I don't think she had the virus from start. Her case is bogus and the state govt didn't want to admit to their failure. She need to sue them.

Which drugs?. Haven't you heard that there are no drug discoveries to treat Covid 19 directly or are you from Neptune.?

What they treat are the symptoms of the virus which manifests differently in different people. For some the symptoms are a fever, others breathing problems, while in others it may be inflamation.

If you don't have any symptoms then you are kept there to avoid infecting others, spreading the virus, which is trying to correct the mistake the goverment made early on when it insisted on self quarantine which did not work. That is why the place of detention it is called an 'Isolation Centre'.

In the western world there are no isolation centres just hospitals to treat patients who have exhibited symptoms. There even if you are positive you are advised to stay at home in self isolation until you become unwell or get better.

Here once you are positive you are picked up and taken to the IC whether you have symptoms or not. Our system is different.

What is so hard for Nigerians to understand in this.

If the lady is still positive though asymptomatic and she returns home and infects others who then go on to become ill and die, the same public will change tune and accuse the goverment of negligence.

It was the yearnings of people like us for all positive cases to be quarantined mandatorily that has kept this woman away from infecting a lot more people. Nigerians should use their brains and not plunge this country into further crises by accusing goverment of unethical practices and unlawful detention. That is foolish.

You are talking like this out of naivety or ignorance. The whole Covid-19 situation in Nigeria is not straightforward just like everything in Nigeria. Three test and more but you never see results of so called positive tests. More so, how can we trust test kits used here. I believe that's where most of the errors are from just like the case in Tanzania where samples from goat and pawpaw tested positive. No such QC was done in Nigeria. There is a lot of test falsification going on because some people or entities are going to get paid for treating Covid-19 patients. The same thing is happening in America where all deaths are ascribed as due to Covid-19 because the hospitals are going to get paid extra $13k for each patient plus extra $39k if patient was put on ventilator. Love of money is the root of all evil as the saying goes.

Remember that 80% of patients don't show symptoms and don't need medications. The reason she was spotted was that she was returning from abroad, hence the test. Otherwise, her case would have gone unnoticed as one of the 80% that don't develop symptoms. Nothing strange in her case or Nigeria covid-19, let's protect ourselves

Too long a time for the virus to be serious active in her body. Her body immunity will not be standing idle for those days and just looking at the virus.

I will question NCDC testing/test kits and it is also possible for the test kits they are using to pick up the dead virus, hence we heard of some people who previously tested negative are testing positive....NCDC must have missed her negative test window and are now picking up the dead virus which is part of her healing process and she can’t infect anyone.

There is no specific formula for this disease, it manifests differently in different people. It may interest u to know that she refused giving NCDC sample for retest but rather demanded that WHO conduct the test. She didn't take any medication and yet she's finally released from isolation which is to say that she wasn't positive after all

Go and read up Paulo Dyabala of Juventus. He stayed longer than this woman in isolation and he was asymptomatic all along.

The woman was tested and she is positive even though she was not showing any symptoms.

Some people just don't want to learn. The reason America have over 1.5 million cases is because they are testing everyone. U can drive through and have a test just for the sake of it without having any symptoms. They have done over 14 million tests. Russia too are doing massive testing, over 7 million tests done and over 317k cases. Some of those that just went for test without symptoms and are positive could have healed from him if they didn't go for test, some would recover without even knowing they ever had the virus. This is the reason UK are now carrying out antibody tests to identify those who have had the virus and recovered without even knowing. The risk of not testing enough though is someone who is infected and have no symptoms can infect another who would have a severe case.

From what I've learnt on this forum and from other Nigerian social blogs, a large number of Nigerians have no clue that covid19 patients can sometime (or infact most times) have little or no symptoms. A lot of people think covid19 patients must always be in critical condition. I've received uncountable insults for even trying to explain this to some folks.
