I'm neither in support of domestic violence or wife beater, but I still wonder why some people will always be the first to spark if they hear any disagreement between husband and wife without knowing who is at fault.

I have seen a situation where a wife use pistil to kill her husband out of jealousy meanwhile if the man should just slap the woman, heaven will surely fall that day..

women should learn how to behave and not provoke a guy too much till the edge.

I don't support beating a woman but sometimes a little slap can correct somethings.

It is wrong to hit anybody, however Nigerians are very hypocritical, we took only a small segment of that law as applied in western countries.

In western countries, teachers do not beat their students, military personnel do not beat civilians, men do not beat women, men do not beat men, parents do not beat children etc. Every kind of beating is prohibited.

In Nigeria, the child gets beaten by teachers, parents, older siblings etc, the child in turn beats up people he’s older and stronger than. We grew up like that with a mindset that we should use beating as a way of registering displeasure.

If the government is serious, physical violence should be frowned upon across all board starting from the family and schools. That way children can learn that not every situation should be solved with violence.


Back to your question, it’s because women are seen as physically weaker than their male counterpart. In the world today the weak is allowed to bully the strong but it mustn’t happen the other way. E.g. fans can insult celebs all day, when the celeb claps back it makes headline, black people can say trash about white people, when a white guy does same he’s accused of racism etc.

The slap still won’t stop her from using the pistil, like they say two wrongs don’t make a right so talking to her still remains the best option

We don't have control over what people say or how they treat us, however we do have control over ourselves and how we react towards one another that is what men and women should train their body and mind to adapt to.

To add, it’s not the “hitting of the woman” that is wrong, it’s the physical assault.

Do the matter same way you do a guy.

If you slap/ beat a guy if he bleeps up do so with ladies.

And if you can talk it over with a guy do so with ladies

That is the gender equality they have been fighting for

A man doesn't just attack ladies cause they are weaker than him.
Some ladies provoke guys too much and feel the guy won't do anything cause she is a lady.
Men even go easy on ladies, sometimes ladies do things that if your fellow guys do to you, you would beat him up and men don't react cause they are ladies.
And nobody would want to hear the full gist they just conclude the guy is wrong.
As an advocate of gender equality anything you can beat your fellow guy for, also beat up.a. lady for.
