Even some of the companies he listed just assembles vehicles not actually wield a piece here and there.
Proforce,DICON, Innoson and OSV are the only companies that I believe if all cooperate at least 500 MRAP a year is sure
ntc kano , annamco enugu, pan Kaduna.also has the manpower and machinery.

Nigeria is good in neglecting good stuffs.
2000 ARA MRAP = cooperation + money + govt willpower+ materials availability (engine, transmission, suspension and amour grade steel)

possibly yes as it is now.
The military is focusing on More made in Nigeria military hardware.
Except the ones that can't be produced in country.
You can now obviously see more innoson vehicles in The NE.
More than 300 acquired.
Same will go for the MRAPS.The army has already approved the ARA combat test and a proven war machine.

Uganda has SU30 but are they still operational...
That's the question.its not about having Dope Aircrafts but do u have the bills to sustain em.Also We are buying more than 3 JF17.The First three is to arrive November more are coming.

You are so caught up in your misguided idea of patriotism which really is denial of fault and or incompetence, but present the sub standard as excellent, that is the enthronement of mediocrity. You do the nation a disservice when you cannot criticize constructively and sweep all faults under the carpet. That is essentially SYCOPHANCY of which you have become the chief proponent.

Your first response is to cast aspersions and denigrate the competency of the Ugandan air force, you make no strategic regional comparison and our lack of strategic far reaching air superiority attack aircraft such as the SU-30.

But you go even further when you don't even consider the regional threats posed by multiple nations who could essentially wipe out our air force in a day. You then conclude we are getting the JF-17, that counters all potential threats, sorry that is a joke. Which country serious about air superiority will be buying Pakistani fighter aircraft.

The NAF have 15 Mi 24/ 35 Attack helicopters Sudan has 43, The NAF has 5 MI-8 large military helicopters Angola has 66, and we are the one fighting on multiple fronts.

The NAF has 13 Alpha jets and 8 FN-7 , how many of these China copied Mig 21's are operational, I read here about a number of them requiring major maintenance, apart from that they have been far less reliable than the much older Alpha jets.

It is as plain as DAYLIGHT the NAF is completely over stretched and does not have required aircraft for the job.

From all the you have said in your mind this is adequate lets hail PMB .

Guy all these you mentioned are they still able to keep them in the sky do they have enough pilots to operate them.Of course the remaining F7ni fleets are operational about 80% of our fleets are operational.
You said which serious country about air superiority would buy the jet.
Obviously Egypt is showing Interest.
I'm not Denigrating the competency of the Ugandan Air force. Fine they have SU30 that's one advantage over us.But that can't change the fact we are better than them. Simple

This is the first delivery of the Koalitsiya-SV multiservice artillery system to the troops. Its firepower is based on the 152mm gun with a rate of fire of over 10 rounds per minute, which is higher than the speed of fire of other artillery systems

Some are asking for million dollar drones to prevent ambushes but have forgotten we dont yet have the few thousand dollar MRAPs required by our soldiers to beat an ambush. The men on the ground want something to give them a fighting chance,Mraps, lots of grenades (both smoke and frag),mortar and proper training on beating ambushes with these weapons. If we can't furnish them with MRAP's what will drones do? If wishes were horses we will all ride. we deal with the budget we know not fantasize on "Giant of Africa".
We are talking about drones but here we have a recovery vehicle ambushed because there is not enough MRAPs to go round. Are we suggesting the Army cant move around against BH without the air-force saying it is safe, esp. in an uncontested airspace? Surely that is not possible!
I just laught at some suggestions,by the time you unload a few drone missiles you have bought ARA2 MRAP.
Concerning drones.
Again,we already have drones. If we wanted to do surveillance ahead of troop movement we can do it.If we wanted to use the beechcraft surveillance to give a heads up it can be done. However the running cost for each minor troop movement is too much in comparison with giving our troops proper protection and weapons to beat an ambush.

Thank you very much

We are sending our sons , Fathers, brothers and Uncles into a killing zone with multiple threats in the back of soft skinned trucks, Big yellow 25 ton Dumpster trucks, soft skinned pick ups.

We do not have enough of anything we essentially need everything we do not even have a definitive IFV in our inventory. Our ability to project over distances is very limited our supply chain logistics is very poor, 3 c-130's and 5 utility heave lift helicopters MI-8.

Then in 2018 somebody has a brain wave a wonderful bright idea, lets buy 12 A29 turboprop aircraft that will not be delivered until in completion until 2024 indeed we will not get the first aircraft until 2020+. Meanwhile it is only going to cost the paltry sum of $600 million.

With that sum of money i would have Boko technically defeated and rendered impotent within 2 months as well as address issues of strategic regional projection. I would use ingenious procurement to have a duplicity of multiple armoured vehicle platforms and that includes MBT, APC, definitive IFV's, MRAP and the desperately needed LAV IN excess of 1500 units. What does it cost to procure precision assault rifles with optic sights as standard, NVG, as well as all round communications infrastructure.

The bold is a muddled cacophony of ideas without substance and or direction.

How many drones did the NAF procure including the debacle of the Israeli drones

Look at our peers when procurement is being made it is done in hundreds not pieces of ten that will make no impact. For instance we bought a number of Chinese MBT and light tanks , what is the total number from what i gather not more than 25, that is a drop in the ocean, it is simply not enough.

Finally, how much is a toyota light skinned gun truck and how much is a used eastern block BTR 80 APC, not particularly outstanding but a lot better than being in the back of a pick up truck in a kill zone.

You talk anyhow. He responded to a simple "Uganda has Su-30" comment.

Now. Following the context of your earlier Post. Uganda has about 6Su-30 with evidence everywhere they can't keep and sustain 2 in the Air. So is that what you're applauding?

Are you interested in only platform names or what?

NAF DEPLOYS SPECIAL FORCES ELEMENTS, ADDITIONAL PLATFORMS TO BOOST ONGOING OPERATIONS IN KATSINA

In furtherance of President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive on the launch of a major crackdown against bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements in Katsina and other States in the North West of the Country, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today, 22 May 2020, injected Special Forces (SF) operatives and deployed additional platforms to Kastina State. The arrangement is to consolidate on the already existing security architecture in the State in order to ensure the success of the ongoing renewed offensive against the armed bandits under the auspices of the Defence Headquarters (DHQ)-led Operation HADARIN DAJI.

In his address during the deployment, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, represented by the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command (AOC SOC), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Charles Ohwo, stated that the deployment was informed by the need to quickly add value to the current effort by all security agencies to decisively deal with acts of banditry and criminality in Katsina State and the entire Northwestern Nigeria. He disclosed that precursor air operations that commenced 2 days ago had already yielded positive results with some armed bandits’ camps destroyed, thereby further degrading the fighting capability of the criminals. He said the deployment of the additional SF operatives would complement the successes so far recorded to ensure the activities of bandits, kidnappers, cattle rustlers and other criminal elements are curtailed.

Speaking further, the representative of the CAS assured the good people of Kastina State that the NAF, working in synergy with sister Services and other security agencies, would continue to do its utmost to ensure a return to normalcy in the area. He also thanked the Executive Governor of the State, Governor Aminu Bello Masari, for his support and encouragement towards ensuring the success of the Operation. AVM Ohwo charged the troops to continue to uphold the NAF’s core values of ‘Integrity’, ‘Service before Self’, and ‘Excellence’ as they carry out their assigned tasks.

The Katsina deployment is coming just few days after the NAF had deployed SFs and Combat Search and Rescue operatives to Nasarawa and Plateau States.

if the ARA is proven platform, and it's cheap compared to foreign variants, I believe requesting for emergency #100bn from the NASS to acquire at least 1000 locally made and assembled MRAP/IFV within a year or 2 won't be impossible.
we are losing a lot of young men and exposing more to PTSD without treatment.

And you think the service chiefs has not done that, especially the COAS and CDS.
I can remember vividly there was a time around late last year where the service chiefs refused to come to the Lower house/NASS and the reps where so pissed off because they sent there accountants and procurement officers to represent them.
The chiefs where pissed off of begging the house, our major problem has been the law makers.

Are you talking about how BHT captured Gwazo in 2015 overrunning the military formation capturing a lot of equipment/cache of weapons also.
I remember they captured a T-55.

VIDEO: Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad Pound ISWAP Terrorists in Lake Chad Islands- MNJTF Spokesperson

In the continuing offensive operations to degrade and ultimately neutralize the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and other criminal sub-national entities, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has in the past 48 hours been conducting joint artillery and air interdictions of identified ISWAP strong points and High Value Targets in the Lake Chad Islands (the Tumbuns).

2. Following recent collation of intelligence from multiple credible sources, the Cameroonian Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform conducted a detailed surveillance of ISWAP strongholds in the Tumbuns which identified some of their key installations including training camps, logistics bases and other high value targets. Based on this, a massive air and artillery interdiction was conducted by the Nigerian Air Force jets and the Artillery of MNJTF Sector 3 (Nigeria) while the Cameroonian ISR provided aerial observation. The Battle Damage Assessment shows that several terrorists were killed, while many buildings believed to have held valuable terror infrastructure were incinerated. Secondary explosions which could be seen in the video suggests that operational vehicles and fuel storage were also impacted in the ensuing inferno. As part of the strategy to sustain the tempo of the operations, in the early hours of today, the Chadian Sukhoi Ground Attack Aircrafts also conducted series of interdictions on multiple targets in the Tumbuns.

3. In the coming days, the combined air assets of Troops Contributing Countries under the auspices of the MNJTF will intensify interdictions to further degrade the capability of the terrorist organisation. This is with a view to restraining ISWAP from carrying out any attack on military or civilian targets within the MNJTF area of operation.

4. The MNJTF with the support of Troop Contributing Countries and strategic partners, will sustain its current posture until the liquidation of threats of terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin is achieved.
