When Buhari was sending money for Lagos Covid-19 intervention, he should have released money immediately for lab set ups all over the country for early and regular spread assessments. The N60 Billion the federal government wants to use for national gutter cleaning should be channelled towards a Covid-19 testing and early treatment programme. We need to send a team to Senegal to start a Covid-19 response protocol in line with the Senegalese system. This will enable a cost effective and comprehensive approach. This is a time to save lives. Not siphon money. The NCDC and Minister of Health need to change their greedy attitudes. Lives are at stake. Lockdown means nothing without testing, isolating and treating infected ones. 2 Likes |

We must absolutely have testing labs not only in every state but in every major city or town, so that tests can be conducted very quickly and the infected identified and isolated before they start spreading the disease to other people (several days before they start showing symptoms). Speed is a force multiplier for testing. If two countries are test the same number of people per day, the one with faster testing will have better results. Countries need to keep increasing their testing capacity as fast as they can, using all the money that they have, until it gets to the level where the number of new cases start to drop. Whatever it costs, it is worth it. 6 Likes 6 Shares |

bad...so disappointed seeing only p.h and imo from the list of top oil states with testing labs...instead am seeing more northern states or is it because of the population in the north or because of that case of mysterious diseases that killed many last month....was expecting to see akwa ibom or calabar but maybe the f.g or state govt are still working on it...just yesterday, i saw a news about our controversial mr.freeze blasting Nigeria because he saw rewanda adopting roborts that test hundreds of people in some mins by just scanning them and i think thats a good way to go because test shouldn't be based on symptoms alone bt it should be mandatory for all who wished to and not until u start experiencing symptoms....the number of tests conducted generally is too small for a state alone lyk kano not to talk abt a country...i jus pray the f.g get things right...happy weekend all |
