Lol. I was thinking you would say Algeria. I love the specs of the Koalitsiya. It's a sexy vehicle and state of the art in all respects.
However, I would take a single Jobaria rocket system over a platoon of the 2S35.

but why do y'all think the police ain't using their Helicopters.
Some of their helicopters has been equipped by the NAF with GPMGs.
The were used to eliminate some elements of Ansaru terrorists earlier this year ;

They only act on executive order: they don’t see it has a duty they should always execute often.

Nigeria troops are too over stretched, they are even doing Jobs which they are not supposed to do

My apologies, but I don't believe they are overstretched. If that were so they wouldn't be mounting road blocks all over the South East and south South when there's police for that.

And you think the service chiefs has not done that, especially the COAS and CDS.
I can remember vividly there was a time around late last year where the service chiefs refused to come to the Lower house/NASS and the reps where so pissed off because they sent there accountants and procurement officers to represent them.
The chiefs where pissed off of begging the house, our major problem has been the law makers.

What reason did the law makers give please?

I second. 80% of the special mobile police unit should be drafted to the NE for the duration of 6 months to compliment the efforts of the military at this time.

Mobile Police are in the Northeast . Mobile Police are usually part of the Military convoy movements here in NE.

Tho it's quite risky posting lots of them here if they don't stay in the trench with the Military. When BH attacked an FOB in Gajiram, it was just one of the BH Guntruck that brought down the police station killing three Mob police and abducting two. The police in thier numbers cannot engage someone using a DSHK with AK47.

that's why they are overstretched, and they are supposed to be troops in part of the south south because of militancy and oil installations, but it shouldn't be in everywhere.

Which is why I find it ridiculous when I watch scenes in American military movies where helicopters land on their target's roof and the occupants of their building will still have no clue.

I have seen NAF and Nigerian police helicopters flyby on several occasions and I must say those beasts make hella of a noise. You hear them before you even see them.

Actually, there are noisy and not-so-noisy helicopters. The major noise source in a helicopter comes from its tail rotor. Using a Fenestron tail rotor or a NOTAR means you can eliminate most of the noise associated with a helicopter.
So, yes if you are in such helicopters going hard and fast you can easily surprise your enemy and eat his ass.

The intelligent question was asked by the guy. Why did Angola buy 66 MI8 (I dont actually believe that figure) but why would they have bought that number?. How many of them are actually operational at this time. I don't think Sudans aircraft acquisition also made sense. The only air force planes flying in Sudan now are J7s and Karakorum trainers i am sure.
Buying hardware does not mean your military is powerful. Ask Gadhaffi. A few rebel forces turned his army sometimes No2 in Africa into nothing.
In Iraq a few years back, ISIS with technicals and Land cruisers captured more tanks and armored cars in one week than the the entire Armies of West Africa

My apologies, but you don't appear to understand how weapon and aircraft acquisition works. Say I went and bought a hundred F-22s, that would be very nice, right?

However, not all of the aircraft can be available for missions at all times. Aircraft availability is never 100% and varies widely. So, if I want the greatest possible aircraft to be available for missions, one way to do that is to buy as many as possible.
So, buying a hundred F-22s and supposing they have a 70% availability rate means around 70 will be available at any time. Buying only 50 of those planes and with their availability rate means less than 40 available at any one time.

That sucks. And that's why I can never be a fan of the NA buying weaponry in trickles from every country on the globe, when it should be buying in quantity.

You are also right- buying hardware does not make you powerful. You need to know how to use it to be powerful.

That is the main reason the Arab countries have never been able to defeat Israel, because Israelis train harder than anyone else and value competency, while the Arabs value nepotism, corruption and loyalty to the regime above everything else.

Give the Arabs an F-22 and give Israel biplanes from World War 1 and they will still win, because they are superbly innovative and competent. I don't like them, but I do respect them.

That's also why little Chad was able to beat Ghaddafi silly during the Chadian-Libyan war. And capture huge quantities of materiel.

As for ISIS in Iraq, the Iraqi army at that time was corrupt and inept to the limit. There were more than a few ghost soldiers, added so money could be made.

The Iraqi soldiers lacked the will to fight and were very poorly led. They abandoned perfectly good M1 Abrams tanks in the face of ISIS advances, even though ISIS lacked any notable anti-tank weaponry bigger than RPG 7s. They just ran because they didn't want to fight at all and it wasn't what they signed up for.

Can you be specific.

An innoson poor copy cat of the Mercedes-Benz G- Wagon, which is the Chinese BAIC motors BJ80 it has a kerb weight of approx 2000kg.

The transmission, body frame ( chassis), drive train and Engine will weight a conservative 1400kg. Are they made in Nigeria

Add the body shell, doors, etc suspension and wheels, that will be about 400kg at least

. Are they made in Nigeria also .

We now process iron ore into steel and then have steel rolling mill to roll the steel. Then the innoson factory has lazer cutters to precision cut the steel.

I want to believe that we produce 100% Nigerian tyres in Nigeria and the tyres are sourced in Nigeria.

Now consider what you have said and respond substantively.

What % of Nigerian local content is in Innoson vehicles.
you are looking for local content.

what and what do we produce in this country.

OPERATION HADARIN DAJI AIR COMPONENT DECIMATES ARMED BANDITS CAMPS, KILLS 135 OF THEM IN AIR RAIDS CONDUCTED IN KATSINA AND ZAMFARA STATES

1. As part of the renewed offensive to rid the North West of the Country of armed bandits and other criminal elements, the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI has decimated several camps and neutralized no fewer than 135 armed bandits in massive air raids executed at several locations in Katsina and Zamfara States between 20 and 22 May 2020. The air strikes were undertaken sequel to credible Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports as well as series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that led to the identification of the camps, which include Abu Radde Camps 1 and 2 and Dunya in Jibia and DanMusa Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Katsina State as well as Hassan Tagwaye’s Camp; Alhaji Auta’s Camp and Maikomi in Birnin Magaji and Zurmi LGAs of Zamfara State.

2. The air interdiction missions were painstakingly undertaken by the Air Component as it dispatched its attack aircraft to the locations in multiple bombing runs, some of which were executed simultaneously. At the Abu Radde Camps on 20 May 2020, a set of huts housing one of the notorious bandit leaders was taken out by air strikes with scores of the bandits killed and few seen fleeing with gunshot wounds towards the Dumburum Forest. Similar air raids were executed at Hassan Tagwaye’s and Alhaji Auta’s Camps as well as at Maikomi with equally devastating effects. HUMINT reports later confirmed that no fewer than 135 bandits were neutralized by the series of air strikes at the various locations.

3. The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) commends the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI for their professionalism and directs them to remain resolute, in order to achieve the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to restore normalcy to all parts of Nigeria.

Hmmmm the story is not complete then. It's not easy or even possible to battle AA guns with AK 47. I don't believe such news. Just the sound of an AA is terrifying.

I hardly see SARS here, if I'm correct self I doubt of I have ever seen a SARS vehicle outside Maiduguri

I was of the opinion that they ring it just to create alert, but my colleague said the dudes ring it sometimes so they can hear properly cheesy. That the Gunners due to gun sounds have become partially Deaf.

The thread on twitter worth reading . Really sad . Heavy corruption in the military starting from 1980 that saw a lot of Generals, even Colonels become owners of large tracts of lands for farms and billions in real estate and stashed cash, led to the neglect of this vital equipment.once bitten twice shy. https://twitter.com/DefenseNigeria/status/1264062629007556608?s=19

Thank you very much

We are sending our sons , Fathers, brothers and Uncles into a killing zone with multiple threats in the back of soft skinned trucks, Big yellow 25 ton Dumpster trucks, soft skinned pick ups.

We do not have enough of anything we essentially need everything we do not even have a definitive IFV in our inventory. Our ability to project over distances is very limited our supply chain logistics is very poor, 3 c-130's and 5 utility heave lift helicopters MI-8.

Then in 2018 somebody has a brain wave a wonderful bright idea, lets buy 12 A29 turboprop aircraft that will not be delivered until in completion until 2024 indeed we will not get the first aircraft until 2020+. Meanwhile it is only going to cost the paltry sum of $600 million....

....Look at our peers when procurement is being made it is done in hundreds not pieces of ten that will make no impact. For instance we bought a number of Chinese MBT and light tanks , what is the total number from what i gather not more than 25, that is a drop in the ocean, it is simply not enough.

Finally, how much is a toyota light skinned gun truck and how much is a used eastern block BTR 80 APC, not particularly outstanding but a lot better than being in the back of a pick up truck in a kill zone.

Don't blame the Airforce for the army's problems. The Army has the Biggest budget of the three tiers and seems to even want drone helicopters.
Concerning acquisitions it is one thing to make aquisition it's another thing to run a competent airforce from those aquisitions. Each time you buy a ship, aircraft or weapons system you don't make yourself, you raise the recurrent expenditure astronomically,if care is not taken your army could become impotent from aquisition. Capacity is important but capability and competence is just as important.
In terms of recurrent expenditure a twin engine like an su27 is almost twice as expensive to run and train pilots competently as a single engine fighter. Where you have six competent pilots you could have had 12. There is a reason why our airforce has been flying thousands of sorties in the last 5 years while some African nations pilots are earth bound.
If you want better weapon systems for our armed forces, tell the House of assembly to cut their stupendous salaries.

On the contrary that's an orelikon contraves....and I'm sure it's European made and serves on almost all British navy ships....I know this because I have held one before....there have been in use for the Nigerian navy.....since probably the 70s or 80s....that's the old version, with a motor bike kind on handle for trigger and manual firing and mk 1 eye balls fire control.
