We aren't taking into consideration the release date in this comparison, so yes. I believe it is justified.

Increased camera count with additions of depth and macro sensors is mostly for marketing not just in Nigeria. So yes. Every other camera aside the primary and ultra wide in the infinix is for marketing.

You are using an outdated Redmi Note 7 to justify the low spec device recently released by infinix.

You are trying to hoodwink buyers into buying a substandard product at an unjust price.

That is what the OP initiated.

the infinix note 7 is 2generations late to Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 level.

Infinix note 7 cannot withstand the Redmi Note 7's current siblings(Redmi Note 8 n 9).

The Redmi Note 8 when pitched against the week old infinix note 7, it will be an unfair comparison based on specs, longterm usage and price.

Randerl:
The OP has ended up justifying these 2 points, viz:

1. Xiaomi devices are future proof.

2. Xiaomi made devices don't use outdated hardware or software.

Correct.

thanks for mentioning type C argument
so many retarded ppl use it as an argument

type C isn't really an upgrade.. Fast charging is available on micro usb too

it also universal with no proprietary rights.. which means it cost nothing to switch
I think transsion knws plenty ppl still use micro usb devices.
I've been searching fr otg type C fr d past 2days nw

Since you, the OP, agreed to these conclusions, then,

Redmi Note 7's Versatility should be at least 8.5/10

Infinix Note 7: 4.5/10

Type C is a massive upgrade over the Micro USB.

Do you understand how universal serial bus technology works? The Type C runs on the 3.0 version. Newer Macs use Type C. The PS5 uses type C to mention a few.

Higher data transfer speeds, power delivery charging and most importantly, reversibility!!! It is also future proof. I'm in love!

Does a micro USB support USB 3.0? Does it support reversible charging? Doesn't it match the type C in data transfer and charging speeds in terms of power delivery? Is it future proof?

Do I have to school you all the time?

There is a reason why a 2 generations old device will bench a week old Infinix device.

Oga. A usb port has 3 characteristics - data transfer, power delivery and shape of the port. The advantage of type C is it CAN deliver higher power as well as faster data speeds than what micro USB can offer.

But if what is intended to be delivered can be done by micro USB, then there is no need for type C. We see that here. Both phones offer equal power delivery of 18watts. Both phones have the same data transfer speed technology at USB 2.0. What is left to differentiate them is shape.

Noone is talking about the potential. We all know, micro usb is outdated and type C supports superior technologies. As for future proofing, USB 2.0 will remain 2.0 in the next 5 years. So you're not future proofing nothing. The note 7 will only deliver 18W for the next 10 years. Nothing will change. Also, micro USB doesn't seem to be leaving the Nigerian shores anytime soon.

So calm down.

Xiaomi Redmi note 7 fall my hand in terms of battery life.
it totally failed, I am a phone heavy user, but it ever since i bought my Redmi note 7 I have limited my self.

I charge it once a day, or once in 2 days when I formally bought the phone. Even my friends were abusing me that the phone is the one using me and I am not the one using the phone. I took care and precaution when I bought the phone so that it can have a long lifespan. All my effort is to No avail.
My Redmi note 7 battery last just 4hours now when I use heavily. Even though when just charged, it shows 42hrs.

In other areas like sleekness, camera, graphics e.t.c the phone is bae. But I don't care about those , I can even forfeit my camera for a good sound battery of 12hours after full charge.

Please if anyone knows how I can buy a new battery or get a better battery replacement pls help a brother out.
I should have gone for my techno of 5000mah. I believe my 70,000 just went down the drain. I don't even think I have to the financial bouyancy of getting a new phone in a year time. I am in for it.

*facepalm* I don't expect everyone to necessarily agree with me. Opinions are subjective. Versatility here means basically, how many camera options it offers. Given, the macro cam may be rubbish but it's still there. Half is better than none

Edit : I'm switching it to a 6.5 for infinix because, I just realized it doesn't have a wide angle cam. I thought it did. My bad.

So now we compared redmi note 7 to Infinix note 7?why?
Did they come out the same time?
Is it about the note 7 they bear as name?
Why not compare it to the note series that redmi has?

Absolutely lame to compare both tbh, do comparisons between their latest note series, that's the best way to showcase class superiority.

My people suffer for lack of knowledge

1. The second SIM you're not using to browse, set it to 2G

2. Enter your settings, use the search bar to search for *scanning*. The turn off Bluetooth and WiFi scanning.

3. Do not use full screen brightness, and do not set it auto except when outdoors.

I Once complained about this one Nairaland, 6 month ago and the solution they profered was to turn off Bluetooth and wifi scan, which I have turned off ever since.

And I only use 1 Sim for the phone, and the Sim is at 3g whenever I want to browse.

Check it regularly. It's comes back on when you use Xender because of certain permissions that the app is granted.

There's an update sir, I updated last night. Update your phone. Be very patient while updating.

After updating, wait for at least ten minutes then force restart your phone. Hold down the power button until the phone reboots.

Initially I was going to ignore this post and not comment but now I'll take a bite.

First of all, this comparison doesn't make the slightest bit of sense of me. How would it look like, if I compared the Redmi Note 9 against the two year old Infinix S3? Or the Redmi Note 7 against the Infinix Note 5?

This premise alone obliterates whatever this author hoped to achieve. Another point to note is that he conveniently avoided to mention:

1. Price: Overall, the RN7 is costs less and boasts better specs with the exception of the SoC where the G70 beats the SD660.

2. Age: The G70 beats the 660 because this 660 is almost 3 years old while the G70 was announced in January, and even at that, looking at GeekBench, the score differences aren't even that wide. The G70 couldn't blow away a 3 year old 660.

3. Cameras: The SD660 uses Samsung's GM1 48mp interpolated to 12mp via a Quad Bayer mechanism. The stock cam alone is mad but with the advent of GCam mods, it would be stupid not to take advantage of a better software. The Camera2api of the RN7 came fully enabled and the sensor is very capable. I have entered DSLR contests with an RN7. On the other hand, Infinix have refused to tell us who made their sensors, the Camera2api of the G70 is yet to be seen if fully enabled or not. Will Mediatek or Infinix care to support this phone by releasing source codes and kernels to developers seeing how notorious Mediatek chips are amongst developers? The camera samples I've seen are not worthy of a 48mp to be honest.

OS: MIUI optimization only affects those using 3GB of RAM as there's a bottleneck when it comes to multitasking. Other than that, who dares compare MIUI to a backwater buggy, laggy and ad-ridden XoS? Developers compare MIUI with One IU and iOS. Most Xiaomi users value the UI more than android updates sometimes because it comes with a lot more than stock android can offer?

Finally, since OP has done justice to the display, I agree with everything else he said. I'll move on to the proper comparisons that should be made:

The IN7 should be made to square off with it it's immediate competition e.g:

1. The Realme C3 (G70)
2. The Redmi Note 9 (G85)

Thank you.

You're no different from the others lol. Maybe of should have ignored the post since u couldn't settle down to read it. For the umpteenth time, as a Xiaomi fan, I chose the Redmi Note 7 to give the infinix note 7 A GODDAMN FIGHTING CHANCE. are you people too blind to see that this is an attempt to further ridicule the infinix or do I have to be so blatant?

I clearly explained that redmi note 7 beats the infinix in CAMERA QUALITY! again, I have to spell it out. I also mentioned how the DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY gives it an upper hand, one of whose fingers is CUSTOM ROM development.

WETIN DE WORRY UNA?!!!!!?

as for MIUI, my sis just called me a couple of days ago to complain how her redmi note 8 has started lagging. It freezes occasionally whenever she uses the keyboard. I personally don't use miui because of these kinds of Walhalla. Havoc os and evolution x are my home base. So, even on a 4 gig ram redmi there's no guarantee of a stutter free/ choppy framerates experience.
