I have a fantastic ideal that will help render some vital services to Nigerians and netizens IN African. I am just taking programming courses and it is quite difficult giving my profession.

I am more of a business person than a programmer. Must I Become a programmer to succeed in this realm?

Thank you.

No you mustn't but you can get a CTO and share equity but it's very hard to do so in Nigeria. The best programmers we have are being poached by the west. The few remaining here in Nigeria are working remotely or freelancing. It's very hard if you have no big financial backing behind you.

In regard to your question, you can hire professional software engineer to develop a software that runs on the web. That's if you have the fund.

Instead, learn programming languages and develop any software you would like to render as a service, then you can take it public.

If you have the fund, you can advertise it, but if not, seek for investors.

You have become an internet entrepreneur or a business person.

I am also a business person and an internet addict. I am presently taking courses in marketing, python and data analysis.

Well! I don't have the funds to bank role it at this time. But what I was hoping to do was see if I can put a team of like minds together and we work on part time basis while keeping our regular jobs.

Their equity contribution will be translated into share holding.

You don't have to necessarily be a programmer to own a startup.
You just have to be smart and business minded.
Jack Ma was never a programmer, he was bad at maths and got his first computer at 33 but he was very smart and report has it that he was able to convince 17 friends to work with him and they all founded the multibillionaire e-commerce platform will know today, "Alibaba".
The founder of Amazon "Jeff Bezos" is not a programmer.
Hence, the idea you have can render services to Nigerians and Africans, you can hire a programmer to get the platform done for you. Nowadays, getting programmers to form a startup with you without any form of financial consolidation to them is difficult.
Moreover, if you are not financially buoyant to establish it yourself, you can either seek a loan or pitch to investors.

No. Even an illiterate with deep pockets can own a Startup.

You can surely hire a programmer, evaluate his project cost and offer him equity that will equate to half of it, and the remaining half in cash.
