1. Check if the graphic is chip is driven.

2. Is it timely shutdown? If no then you need to service it, clean the vent and apply coolant.

3. I believe the windows is activated, in some laptop there are different ways to capture the screen, so try different options then go to Paint (windows startup menu ==paint) and paste(ctrl+v) it there you will see it.
Thanks, I've done the Windows update. It's now okay. I can enjoy it with HDMI, not more shutting down. I will just get the suitable power pack now. God bless.

Hi, I was initially using my laptop via HDMI since the screen was broken. I then entered safemode and it doesn't project onto the the second screen anymore. Is there anyway I can fix this without repairing the screen? Please?

Update your wifi driver.

If your wireless card is accessible at the back of the laptop like most fairly old laptops. Use screw driver to open the mini door and re insert the card.

SafeMode, as we know it, does not load non- system drivers and programs. This means that unsigned drivers as well as drivers that were not part of the window OS installation won't be loaded in SafeMode.

Most laptops do not have a functional display & HDMI driver until needed drivers are installed. Unfortunately, these drivers are not loaded in SafeMode. Hence for your secondary screen not displaying at SafeMoDE.

Since you can not see anything, just long press the power button to force shutdown and boot it up normally. (Have you tried this?)

Your primary screen got cracked. Isn't it? Then it should be lit when the laptop is powered on. If all you have is a total black screen, you might have trouble telling whether the system is even booting at all or not.

First we need to be sure that the laptop boots,

What problems were you experiencing that prompted a boot into SafeMode?

There wasn't a problem, I just did this out of curiosity. And yes, my screen lights when the laptop is powered on.

Shut down the laptop, take out the battery and charger. Discharge laptop by pressing power button for few seconds.

Plug in your HDMI cable. (hope nothing is wrong with this as they are very prone to damage. Sometimes they just act up for no reason]

Insert battery or the charger or both. Power on the Pc and let it boot. Once you're sure boot is complete. Try using your shortcut key on the keyboard to switch display screen. If at this point it doesn't still work then something is wrong with:

1. Display drivers
2. HDMI cable
3. System isn't booting up (Maybe it's stuck on 'Diagnosing and Repairing process'

Or maybe you're pressing the wrong shortcut key for switching on your keyboard. grin

Before all of this catastrophe, I had positioned my taskbar to the right... Does the display menu change its location on doing this?

You're welcome. I think you should try and fix the screen first. It's better even when you're certainly going to upgrade to a newer one.

After the screen is repaired, you could sell it to add up for a new one or give it for free to someone who would appreciate you for it. grin

No, it does not. Customization and settings are retained even when you go back to the primary screen

Hello,
The culprit of my charger overheating was the ac power cord, i have changed that and the charger no longer overheats
folarr:
Hello,
Last week, in my area we experienced high voltage, I turned off my laptop and disconnected my laptop charger from the socket, when the voltage stabilized again, I tried to charge my laptop, after sometime the charger would get really hot and stop charging, after this I would then remove the ac cord from the power box and put it back after this the laptop starts charging again

And also,
As I came back from school because if the coronavirus, I found out that their was dust on my laptop shortly after this some of the keys on my keyboard stopped working, can it be that there is dust in the keyboard? And can I fix it without buying a new keyboard?
Thanks.
But now i have a new problem,
Whenever i am charging my laptop, the touchpad behaves erratically or stop working totally but when i remove the charger from my laptop, the touchpad works normally again.
I have gone on the internet to check about the problem and they said something that i could not understand.
Please help.
Thanks.

Your touchpad is experiencing a disturbance due to static current from your FAKE charger.

Solution: change the charger to a better one or get an original (locally referred to as follow-come) charger.

I'm assuming your laptop has three (3)usb ports in total. Are you saying none of the three ports detect your phone for data transfer irrespective of cable used?

Have you tried other usb devices (e.g modem, wired mouse/keyboard etc) to see whether they're detected or not? If yes and they worked then, nothing is wrong wiht your laptop. Your problem may be driver related.

Possible solution(s)
1. Using an external mouse, Go to Device manager and uninstal your touchpad driver. Reboot PC and check whether it is now working.

2. If 1. Fails, then take it to a technician to have it replaced or check the laptop's board. There are rare cases where the touchpad and keyboard is fine yet they're not working due to a bad controller on board.
