It boils down to the unpredictability of the system. Do u remember the short time it took TB to nose dive from over 18% and down to 3. Anything can happen in a short time in Nigeria. The guys making the kill in the stock market in Nigeria presently are the ones that do short term. Checking the market all the time and trading. Some guys buy and sell same stock same day.

Long term Bond are usually favourable to corporates, Pension Fund administrators, Banks and state governments. this is primarily for business continuing from constant liquid.

Reasons it is difficult for me to invest in the bond market, most of us invest in it for the profit motives, an indepth analysis would tell us that the funds (not all) are used for the purpose it was sold hence you fear they may not be able to pay back and when the economy gets grounded they will be repaying by borrowing again to service debt.

With the person of PMB, he can use executive orders (force majeure) to even confiscate someones investment.

This is the reason election affects businesses. Investors watch people who are contending and thier programs for the economy, we knew how portfolio investors left the the Nigerian market that shook the Nigeria Stock Exchange and saw our naira devalued to the lowest in 2016. Uptill now, the economy have not recovered from it.

Though I'm still researching, I love to invest in the bond market as I have been doing in the stock market.

Corporations are honouring their corporate bonds, state governments are honouring their bonds, bonds issued when GEJ was the President are still paying the agreed coupons.

Anything that will prevent a Sovereign nation from honouring its domestic debt obligations,
means no investment or business can ever make profit in the country.
