The world is moving past oil and into technology, an innovative and forward-thinking government, would be looking to build more on Agriculture in the North, buy a government filled with fossils can never have fresh ideas.

They should continue digging land and looking for that destructive black gold in the North, while the South that has it suffer from environmental degradation.

This is why presidential power is very important.

Once you get the presidency, any appointee you put in any agency would dance to your interests even if it will hurt his own mother.

This is what happens when you have an old man with no realisation of recent happenings steering a country as big as nigeria..

Buhari and his gang of oil longer throat cronies would rather spend more of our scarce resource on searching for oil in the North rather than use such monies for investing in infrastructures for the future..what about using such resources for revamping our refineries even if it is the one in the north..

Useless leaders

When the world is moving on from oil, we must start using our resources properly and the best way, to get the best results, we should have learnt a lesson by now.

Why will the Federal government spend billions of Naira in search of oil, when they suppose to use the money to revive our Refineries.

Or Ajaokuta steel
i can swear that half of that money is being embezzled by some persons
...because there's isn't any economical reserves in the north..

It says
"Federal Government may consider scalable options that would ensure that the resources are harnessed and possibly processed in the region to reduce cost"

If proceeds from cotton,Gnut,Cocoa etc was used to explore oil in the sixties.Same proceeds from the current oil wells Should be used to explore for newer wells.

Nigeria is not ready to diversify. This is just gross wastage of resource via corruption. Audio oil exploration hence the monies are just entering voice mail as they're being embezzled. The corruption of this government have no end.

I pray they find oil.

Apart from the fact that they are wasting Nigeria's meagre resources, I am quite certain that if oil is found in the North, the North will push strongly for secession.

And that would be our prayers answered

The south keep thinking these people are dumb, but they are very smart.
They want to develop their region at all cost while other regions remain stagnant.

If we no get sense now, we no fit get sense again.

Shameless people. My uncle who worked as a drilling engineer said there are traces of some oil there and gas but not in commercial quantities like in Niger delta. But the northerners dont care and say they must keep searching
this is a fat lie from him, he's not a real engineer

Why are you certain the push for secession. They'll lose seaport access and pay extra to export oil? There's very little advantage strategically for breaking up.

Instead of exploring other economic helplines like Forestry, wild life, tourism, solar generation, food exportation, human capital development like IT hubs across the nation, robotics, etc... These morons are hellbent on wasting funds in moribund ventures in the wasteful region of Nigeria.

I just pity those who will be born in decades to come...

I Thank God for the little progress I saw as a child under military rule!!!...

This is a whole new level of cluelessness!!!
