bidexiii: Nigerian army needs to do better abeg. You take care of your soldiers and they would have no excuse not to deliver. Look at Airforce and Navy guys in the field, always looking like very professional soldiers. Army guys look like rebels, unprofessional and untrained rebels. 11 Likes |

bidexiii: You see, things get worn out after long usage, so you replace them. If you send me to war 2 years ago with shining new equipment, won't they have gone bad? It is your responsibility to replace and provide me with appropriate equipment. Look at all the operational pictures provided by the military, 93% of troops always lack at least one basic equipment. A very large percentage of the others look like Ojota touts. I also agree with you on discipline, our troops need to show proper discipline for real. There is always something missing with regards to proper discipline of Nigerian soldiers. 5 Likes |

kabe1: Yeap and also work on soldiers discipline. We’ve seen European soldiers like France in Mali and Afghan inside the hot weather well kitted and with 10-20kg bag-pack. 3 Likes |

Toju200: What sort of rubbish are you writing. Who told you all the Navy and Air Force guys in the field are special forces? NAF Regiment is not a special forces unit, it is the ground combat unit of the Air Force. It is the Panthers that are commandos, the red berets. NAF Regiment is modeled after RAF Regiment. You do yourself some good by researching properly before making comments. 3 Likes |

kabe1: That's not true and it not the pertinent issue. In Europe if a General over night became a millionaire, and had assets in excess of his earnings. He would have a lot of explaining to do, not being praised as a trail blazer of innovation and competence. You have several degrees of compliance with independent checks and balances. Continous audit. To ensure outcome delivery standards are kept and casualties kept to the outmost lowest. A situation where combatants are not paid or underpaid. Or deployment in theatre exceeds agreed time limits almost impossible. Add to that the oversight function of the legislative chambers separate or fused. Parliament essentially gives the common man a very LOUD and CLEARLY DISCERNABLE VOICE. Nigerian combatants are expected to be dehumanised and say yes sir no matter the circumstances. In otherwords die in silence and when they talk some if us perversely condemn them. Senegal, Uganda and Kenya are not our peers. Our peers are Algeria, Egypt, South Africa. The problem is ourselves a mixture of ignorance and shameless sycophantic praise singing of incompetent leaders political and military. As a consequence we enthronme mediocrity and create way below par expectations. 6 Likes 1 Share |

pacretus: Senegal is on the periphery but has been very very proactive in prevention as opposed to reactive. Uganda has been fighting a number of insurgent activities e.g. Lord's Resistance Movement, etc Kenya has been engaged with Al Shabab both at home and in Somalia. |

And how many troops are deployed by these countries some of you are praising? Nowhere close to Nigeria's, if a soldier decide not to properly kit, that's on him and a sign of poor leadership, not because uniforms or boots aren't available. For anyone to think the military wouldn't provide basic kitting to soldiers is beyond stupid, even if their shoes or whatever are worn out, there is no reason to think they can't get another, unless they have to pay for it, then perhaps that soldier will forgo it, but to say it's not given or available? lord. Anyone seen our troops dress the way some do now when deployed on foreign missions? No, and those other African countries mentioned, i believe are deployed for foreign missions, and not even in massive numbers ( guessing here). Our troops have been at this for what? about 10yrs or more? Perhaps i should go online and root out pics of Syrian soldiers as well, and you'd see some of them not well kitted either, as time goes on, all that kitting and sh@t weighs down on troops and they start letting them go one after the other, especially once they are already used to the environment they operate in 3 Likes |
