If out of the tens if not hundreds of cars he's bought for ppl,and there are only 2 bad reviews or even 10,then he's doing well considering we're talking about used cars here.
Same way ppl here sell off their cars most times when it becomes troublesome is d same thing the white man does.A dealer might not have d experience and all d time for a thorough inspection.
The only way you can fully know d condition of a used car is when the car is brought to ppl like g.azzuzz that have their own workshop, the experience and tools for thorough inspection including scanning.

Just to take us down memory lane, below was his response when I asked about inspection.

This should be useful for those who want thorough inspection and little or no surprises when the vehicle lands.

amdman:

We offer 2 levels of inspections:

1. Basic - cursory check of major functions before purchase. You would get videos/detailed pictures before a final buy decision is made

Cost - free

2. Advanced - detailed check by professionals. You would get videos/detailed pictures before a final buy decision

Cost - N50k

No, some people are not biased. People didn't attack her basically for her review, they did when she called him a fraudster without evidence. Infact some people tried to reason with her to get a solution to her issue but she only ended up sounding like she was only out to bring the man down because of the miscommunication between them. You can give a review and advice people not to patronise because of your bad experience, not that he cheated you or didn't deliver what you asked for, that's okay. But labelling him a fraudster without proof went too far. That's what people attacked. Those that insulted her were just being unreasonable.

I’m sure if people decide to state their reviews here even the Amdman FC will be shocked . It’s because she is a woman and can’t bear it they are attacking her . Most people attacking her havnt bought or owned a car and don’t know the cost of maintaining a car to talk more of Ford . I can relate to her story cause I’ve had similar issue (Not with amdman)and when I tried to air my experience most didn’t understand they kept on defending the seller . If u do a good job you will get a credit for that

Let this serve as a lesson to as all please . Make proper enquires before u buy something esp online . People dey change mouth o . Assuming they didn’t talk about the highlighted issue there would certainly be no case . The fact she discussed the Battery and oil filter issues with amdman is enuf evidence , nevertheless it’s not entirely Amdman’s fault as he is unable to checkmate these stuffs here . I suggest he gets someone to inspect and do the running around in Nigeria here at a low cost

There are issues one should keep quiet about rather than talk and compromise basic thinking.

Oga Ford edge is very cheap compared to other jeep of same year except Mazda and co...

Will you compare Ford edge 2008 price with Toyota Rav4, Lexus of even 2006 or 2007?

Check and balance bro,
most American cars are not that market in Nigeria...

Madam thank your stars, yours was battery and a recommended mechanic that didn't do what he was paid for, probably he dropped off the work for his boys who did a shaddy job on your car.
Some of us here had it bad, but decided to keep our cool-the guy code thing.
I paid for my Pontiac may/June last year, the car arrived August, it came clean both interior and exterior, admired by everyone who saw her on the road, but na only me wey wear the shoe know where e dey pinch me.
Amdman claimed the car has no rust, in his own words "no rust at all", needs only a kick starter to start, no other issues. Omo, the issues wey that car get ehn, even devil go run leave am,had leaks from the moon roof, na so water go full inside the passenger & driver side whenever it rains or I wash it.
I bought and took a kick starter (9k from ladipo auto market) with me to the port, got a mechanic there to fix it for 4k, alas the car didn't start after fixing it,obviously the kick starter wasn't the issue, had to tow it with 25k to my house cos allowing it to sleep in the port would incur more cost on me. I later got some auto electricians to make it start for 40k.
That was the first phase of trying to bring the car to life, the next phase was fixing the rust underneath the vehicle, I've never seen so much rust on a car in my entire life. Fixed that too to an extend, before the car could stand to an appreciable standard for me.
Every other month from August, I spend nothing less than 50k fixing one issue or the other on the car, the car was a nightmare to me. At a point I even changed top Gasket, cos it got burnt.
I got tired of the car and sold it off at a give away price, when I called Amdman and told him I've sold my Pontiac, his first response was to laugh. I asked him to get me another (knowing fully well what I want & how to go about it this time around), he showed me 2 pix, but ignored me when I told him I want total inspection (underneath videos & pix, suspension, etc).
So madam Codyella, fix what needs fixing and move on, you don't owe anybody a breakdown of what you've fixed or spent on the car, ignore that dingbat who was asking you to explain how you spent the 100k or shut up for life.

Hmmm.

Baba I'll try to respond to your bulleted reply as much as I can. Mind you, I didn't call you out for a deal I'd since moved on of, but cos Codyella was taken by most peeps here as a killjoy and someone hired or bought over to come spoil your business, I don't know her from Adam, just not happy with 90% of peeps here who are ready not to listen to both parties.

1.In the video review of the car you sent to me, you clearly said there was no rust, and I took your word for it, even when I showed a friend and he pointed out a rust to me, you waved it off as nothing serious. Here's a link to the video on your YouTube page
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jonz5CkObWY (I might get banned by the spam bot for this), listen to your words at the 38 - 40s timeline.
As per the mechanic and panel beater you recommended which I later used, do you know it took almost 5 days for the panel beater to weld the rusted underneath, he didn't even finish all the rust work, i had to use another welder who use electric welding to do more of the rust work. I visit the mechanic every week for one issue or the other, one noise or the other. Some of the noises were linked to one broken part underneath the vehicle, and that would have to be welded. At a point, the mechanic advised me to sell the vehicle and ease my self of its numerous problems. I don't need to come back to you to say I've discovered another rust or another problem, when it is my cross to bear already, afterall you were not assisting in the bills.

2.I remember making and sending a video of the wet interior to you, until a panel beater discovered it to be from the moon roof months down the line, I don't need to bug you months after.

3. You clearly said the kickstarter was why it was not starting, and you also asked me not to get one till the vehicle arrives. I trusted in your words and went to the port with the kickstarter, just so I could drive the car home after fixing it, why would I not be prepared when you already told me confidently what the issue with the car was? Don't blame me for buying a kickstarter baba.

4. Being scammed on the highway was my fault, little wonder I didn't mention it in my first post. I also didn't mentioned where I changed all the 4 tyres cos they were worn and also didn't say I had to change the car battery. I also didn't mention where customs stopped me cos of underpayed duty, and I had to give them a good sum of money to free me. The overheating and changing of top Gasket could also be my fault.
I never used only water in the radiator, right even until I sold the car. I also never used any other oil in the engine besides Castrol 5w-30 synthetic oil. So you can never say I didn't maintain the vehicle properly.

5. I recommended alot of peeps to you, but they all got disappointed with your response to them, it's either you snub them or you ignore them when they request a particular type of car. I contacted you last in March when I sold off the pontiac and requested another from you, but you laughed (don't know what that meant) first before you asked I send you a chat so it comes on top of everyother chat. I didn't continue the deal cos you didn't respond further after you said the one you first showed me has been sold.

The way you claimed a car has no issue is just misleading, we all buy in trust from you, but when we see something that is off what we were expecting, we get unhappy. You can't say "No known Issue" and the car comes with barrage of issues.

Hmmm.

dont be surprised, this is a typical nairaland thread

Everyone posting on this thread has their own motivations

radautoworks is conflicted between defending the obvious and disgusting misogyny and doing her usual all mechanics are dishonest except us, song and dance

codyella had a bad experience, she has shared it and is being attacked because of it?

what nonsense

why were none of the seemingly positive reviews queried or questioned?

the bandwagon effect has taken over most of the people here who see the OP as their messiah and savior and are determined to die on the hill of defending him in the face of substantial complaints

I just saw a similarly negative review, perhaps he would also be attacked and verbally assaulted by the mob

I'll also wait for the only honest mechanic in Nigeria to weigh in from her high horse

we move

I take umbrage to this statement. Never have I said all mechanics are bad except us. There are many times I've even told people on Nairaland to patronize some others here. My problem is with KAZEEMS.

When you bring a problem to a public forum you are inviting public opinion and wanting public input. If you then start to insult the public for trying to help and refuse to entertain offers, did you really want your problem solved or just attention?

Yes, I remain on my high horse as lack of satisfaction with the status quo is why I opened shop in the first place and there will be 10 of our shops around the country.

As for the second review, I will do as I did the first and wait for the rebuttal and counter from both parties before I step in if I choose to as it is not my business. I only stepped in for the previous one because of the misogyny and seeming lack of experience of the buyer. Then I realized there were massive holes in her story and she didn't really want a solution.

I guess the rust should be under d car cos with the video no obvious rust on d visible part, I guess it's time amdman should start paying more attention to details.

That's exactly what I gleaned from the video. No interior rust when he opened the door. He obviously didn't look under the car. A miscommunication in my opinion but understandable why Jester assumed none under either.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
If you buy a used car of 4 years or more from North America it is virtually impossible not to have some rust unless the previous owner rust proofed it. That doesn't mean the car is bad. I mentioned elsewhere I just bought a 2014 Acura MDX from New York. It was cheap and I fully expected some rust. All I had to do when it arrived on Monday was spend $150 to rust proof it and move on with my life. Car is a beauty with no mechanical faults. Rust is not the end UNLESS it's deep.

If you confirmed to us that an issue has been satisfactorily fixed, it is unfair to us to come out 8months later to say it was not fully fixed. Did you then collide with a mechanic to cheat yourself?

You are one of the first people to trust us when we started, so I really hate to join issues with you. I only ask that your comments be fair and be a true picture of what transpired between us.

As I prefer to check each car personally, there is only a finite number of people I can realistically respond to. The system we have in place to filter the requests we get is not foolproof, we have been doing what we can to tweak it to accommodate more people, and will make some further changes next week.

Your referral is important to us and we apologize for how it must appear to you as not valued.

Baba like I said earlier, I hold nothing against you, I only came out to let every Codyella attacker know that she was not the only one who didn't get what she was expecting. Afterall I don buy am, nothing I fit do about am again, I no go fit return am.I don't understand how I should be calling your attention to every repairs I want to undertake on a vehicle you sent.

You are a trustworthy person, but trust is different from integrity, if you said there's no issue or fault to fix, let it be so, except there's a different meaning to that. And if you say there's just a particular fault, let it be so as well, like you say in some of your cars and even provide the faulty parts along with the vehicle.

Many people asked me whether I knew you before sending money to you all the way fron Nigeria to Canada , but I tell them I never knew you, I only trusted you, and they were amazed and wanted to do business with you, that was how I directed alot of folks to you, unfortunately they couldn't close a deal with you cos of lack of response from you, they all got their vehicles elsewhere and moved on by the ways.

If I get money, I go still buy ride from you if you go still sell for me, but after I've done my due diligence of inspecting everywhere before departing with my money ofcourse-I've learnt my lesson.
