No mind them, if they show us the interior of these two new state universities in SA now plus their facilities and learning resources na shame go catch us. We celebrate mediocrity too much in naija. Schools without research facilities and fund making noise since cos of dilapidated buildings scattered everywhere on large mass of land. No doubt we Nigerians are hard working in academics and otherwise, but we don't have the facilities to aid quality research and development.

No excuses this time. The new Mpumalanga and Sol Plaatjie universities are built by the black government. And still no Nigerian institution can come close, even their best ones.

See university na...they may have good structures.with xenophobia as their only discipline.though what we have in Nigeria,are grazing centers.

The entire University and the land there is like one faculty in Nigeria university.

If nigeria decide to reduce the landmass then there won't be space for our ever growing population

Unisa looks like a spaceship when you're driving towards it, such a beautiful sight

Nigeria has over 200 million people in population and over 90 million people under 30 years, they can't afford to build a university like this.

You said the University only take 500 student while my state university caters for over 5, 000 students.

These are just the MAIN campuses. Most of them have about 4 campuses each scattered throughout the city.

University of South Africa (Unisa) alone has centres in every city and overseas campuses because it's a distance learning institution.

And I've seen Nigerian universities because of this drone challenge currently on-going on Nairaland. I think you might just be overstating their size.

It's the smallest with 500 because it's new - so they have limited courses. They are planning to expand with time.

Anyway, here's the capacity of SA public universities. You can do the maths - 1,000,000 divided by 26 equals an average of 36,000 for each university.
