Germany on Saturday blasted US President Donald Trump’s decision to sever ties with the World Health Organization, describing it as “disappointing” and a setback for global health.

The WHO “needs reform” if it is to “make any difference”, Health Minister Jens Spahn said in a Tweet released in English, German and French.

“And the EU must take a leading role and engage more financially,” he said, adding this would be one of Germany’s priorities when it takes over the bloc’s rotating presidency on July 1.


Trump said Friday he was cutting US ties with the WHO, which he charged with failing to do enough to combat the initial spread of the novel coronavirus.

The president first suspended funding to the UN agency a month ago, accusing it of mishandling the global pandemic.

Then, earlier this month, he accused the Geneva-based WHO of being a “puppet” of China, and said the funding freeze would become permanent unless it made “substantive improvements”.

Spahn described Trump’s latest move as “a disappointing backlash for International Health.”

No bro..... US is actually the one championing a lot of fortunes for these Europeans. They're not really powerful without US. Once US is out of a system, the entire Europe would not feel safe. With the way US is going, the country is going down. This means more power to China. Remember, China becoming number one superpower would likely collaborate with Africa to suppress western world such that China takes the lead. Yuan would become global currency, modify all institutions that have western powers and replace decision makers with 70 Asians, 25 Africans and the rest go to them

Lol.... Both nations are great. One is on decline, the other is growing in strength and influence. I have been there. Let me be honest brother, whatever you soul you will reap. America society deliberately turned her black population or should I say reduced her black population to nothing. Just as Northern leaders refused to develop her youth population that have turned to herdsmen, Boko haram, bandits, etc. In the same case of US, it was done out of hatred for skin colour.

Let me be honest with you, the days of glorious America are over. The black population they deliberately neglected would start to hurt them badly. This current protest may give rise to militia groups. Apart from that, foreign govt could destabilise the nation now or use them to infiltrate their intelligence. The country is extremely divided, the President is not only unintelligent but surrounds himself with senseless people like Pompeo.

You don't have to worry or believe what I said it doesn't matter. I know both nations quite well. Obama being President of US brought calamities to Africa than Trump, and didn't change anything for black Americans. China is a different nation entirely, it's not an immigrant nation. Blacks are treated better in China than in the US but the media is the difference. Apart from, an average chinese sees every African on their streets as a poor fellow, a perspective they picked from western media because they practically know nothing about Africa itself.

Blacks in China have good person to person relationships. The very first question chinese would ask any foreigner is where are you from? It's even more easier for a black guy to have a girlfriend than chinese guy in China. In the US, people are generally cold and unfriendly. Same experience I had in a country in Europe.

About my religion, I think it doesn't matter. China encourages her citizens to believe in govt rather than any religion. In the US, there's nothing that shows it's a christian nation anymore, in fact, christians are being mocked or discriminated against now.
