Palliatives: ...should Christians Be Knocking at the of the FG?...or The Church? by Originalsly: 11:54am On May 31, 2020
I may be missing something... if I do.... can someone please....please fill me in.

Over the years soo many of these famous MOG have been in the limelight.... bringing us messages and prophesies directly from God.... performing all sorts of miracles including raising the dead.... and above all.... like a Mafia.... aggressively collecting monies due to God... God's money under the name "tithes".... monies that must be collected regardless if one is rich or poor.

What exactly was the purpose of tithes?..... was it not to serve as palliatives?... palliatives for the MOG and for the widows and the poor?... those who were struggling to maintain?

For yearssss..... our famous MOG have routinely been bringing us direct messages from God.....been competitively performing miracles ... even raising the dead..... but above all..... like the Mafia.... been aggressively collecting tithes on behalf of God. I strongly believe the cash was not sent to God in Heaven.... that it is somewhere here on earth.... more likely in bank accounts.... and I'm positive God did not open any account.

Bearing in mind... the purpose of tithes..... why is the church not redistributing the tithes to the poor and needy amongst them? Why in this time of widespread suffering and starvation our MOG find it best to distance themselves from the limelight?...the time when the sheep need to be fed and guided the shepherd goes into hiding?

The Bible warned about false prophets.... that many shall say they are of God but they are not.... that we must be able to discern .... by their words and actions.... so we can know who is really of God... and who is not.

After sacrificing so much over the years to hand over our ransom tithes... why are we be condemning the President and the FG for not providing us with palliatives when we should be condemning our godly MOG and the church?

Please..... help me clear this up.

Are Christians not citizens of their country? What are you talking about?

We are training youths on solar panel production and installation.

If you want to learn or volunteer to teach please drop your WhatsApp number, location and area of interest.

God bless Nigeria.

You started so well and continued equally well, why ruin everything by ending the way you did.
You turned the whole writeup into trash with that last paragraph.
Shame.

Christians pay taxes and Christians are law abiding citizens of any country.
What else do you want to hear?!?

So I should as a Christian pay tax to govt forcefully and allow then share it to non-christians, while they also dictate lockdown to me and ignore the lockdown right?

My pastor never asked me to stay at home o. It is govt who asked me to. It is govt who is forcing me to starve. I don't know about you.

Even those who gladly tithe don't really know what they do it for. The Tithing practices of today do not even begin to compare to those instituted by God in the bible, so it is hard to say what the real purpose of what is done today in the churches of men is for except to enrich the pockets of the men behind these schemes. undecided undecided

This is about palliatives and Christians..... aren't Christians supposed to be following the Bible? If yes...... then according to the Bible... tithes are basically for palliatives .... to supplement the poor and the spreading if the gospel. The circumstances under which people became poor do not matter.... poor be ause of natural disaster or government orders ...dosen't matter.
Paying taxes has nothing to do with Christians..... give to Caesar what belongs to him.... is all the Bible instructed.... no instructions on what Caesar/FG should do with the taxes. So why must Christians be knocking at the door of the FG instead of the church? This is the question I need answers to.

I have given what's God's to God and what's Caesar's to Caesar. I see no reason to now go and border God for palliative when Caesar commanded the lockdown, is given more, and even Caesar is even buoyant enough to give to nonbelievers who don't pay tax.

You are right to associate tithing with palliatives because in the old testament, the tithing system was a sort of tax system for the nation as a whole which provided for the poor, foreigners, and Levites alike.
From the new covenant example set up by Christ, we derive what is the food pantry system found in the west today, that aids the poor, and in needy.

See, in our world, we know where our taxes go/should go. Caesar works to provide amenities, solutions, and palliative for the people, so he is accountable to me, or is meant to be.
In the church world, who holds the GO's or overlords accountable? shocked shocked shocked

How many types of Tithe were instituted by God and which particular one do Christian collect today?

Many of you will just open mouth and talk about Tithe without clear understanding of it.

There was only one law of tithing, it's definition spread across several books. grin

Oh, I do have a clear understanding of the tithing law. Let's skip the sideswipes and focus on the breadth of the matter here, shall we

The @underlined shows you don't know anything about what you're putting yourself into.

So no need to waste time on you!

By choosing to walk away without so much as showing what you know shows you are likely more clueless than those who you accuse. undecided undecided
