Ojiofor:Bayerabe/yoruba is a slave word for hausas. Some also called them 'eru gambari' as yorubas served as chief slaves in many northern palaces including emirate in illorin. That name was used within yoruba subgroups like ijebu to refer to ibadan and oyo people whom dey sold as slaves but to the fulanis in the north and to the british in the atlantic shore. #HistoryLessons. |
