What exactly is going on in Nigeria ? Is it now Arewa republic under this highly nepotistic administration of Buhari ? The painful part of all this is that some morons are quite cool with it. They see nothing wrong with it and if you dare call their attention to these obvious imbalances, they start speaking some terrible English. Nigeria is a country where victims of oppression are praising and defending their tormentors ! This is what happens when a tribal warlord is made the president of a multicultural country like Nigeria. A man who only finds trustworthy Nigerians in his own arewa community; an ethnic chauvinist ! Any southerner that still supports the present administration and its evil party,APC needs to be quickly checked into psychiatric facility for mental evaluation. This is disgusting to say the very least |

this same scenario is playing out at CBN, and other top government agencies and parastatals, these managers and directors listed above all have boys and girls working under them, who are all northerners. |

meavox:What you have to understand is that nepotism is systematic. It doesn't just start one day. It accumulates over the years. Let me break it down. An example. 20 years ago, 100 people get employed by NNPC. 65 percent northerners, 35 percent southerners. 20 years along the line, those from northern extract may have been promoted more rapidly than those from the southern region due to Nepotism and favouritism rather than performance and fairness. Let's say a vacancy arise for the post of DMD and the policy being that the candidate should be from level 15 and 16. Due to the systematic promotions over the years, only northerners may be eligible as very few southerners may have attained that level. Which means a northerner will get the role eventually either by vote or appointment. This is not just about the north and the south. It is a common practice among organisations of which Nigerian parastatals can be categorised as such. This will not exist if promotions are based on merit and federal character was obeyed while employing people initially. It is not about Buhari or the current government. It's about the seeds we planted as a nation 20-25 years ago. @Saharareporters, try and be constructive when publishing your news. Reading this gives one the impression that a toddler wrote it. |

You people should stop complaining. It is better we all Southerners continue to serve the Northerners than for for them to drive us into the Alantic ocean and kill all of us. They control the Armed forces, Police Custom DSS. Custom Immigration Efcc and others. They also control Boko Haram Fulani Herdsmen Bandits. So what do South have to control the Northern power? Lets promote peaceful coexistence by allowing the North to remain our Masters. Anything they give us, let us accept wholeheartedly. The North is our Masters period |

The day IBB moved Nigeria's capital to the north was the day the north won over the rest of the nation.this nepotism will continue even if a southerner becomes president all top govt institutions will still be dominated by the north unless this country disintegrate. |

gaetano:Do we have to resort to misplaced tribal jabs before making comments? #Ewedu politicians/#Brown Roofs...etc. Nepotism as a result of tribal or religious affiliations and other Nigeria's problems didn't start today, it has been in existence for decades. So instead of shifting blames, having 'smart' opinions or making rude comments, let's denounce issues that affects the progress of this nation. |

It is appalling what this thread later turned to. If Yorubas talk, you go complain..if dem no talk you go complain nawa o Some SEerners were even saying the SWerners are just starting their suffering. Abeg..who dey suffer?..before Crude oil became a thing of note, were the SW suffering? And who told you they're not going to be fine post-crude oil? They boast of higher intellectuals anyday. By calculation, SW is still better than SE take it or leave it; they earn moderate and there prices of things are equally moderate. They have what they have despite their fewer population by comparison. Stop wanking furiously on threads that doesn't necessarily involves only the Yorubas. They are not the cause of your *perceived* misfortune. Yorubas are about the most liberal tribe in Nigeria.; that shouldn't be mistaken for lukewarmness. Afteral, a handful population of SE/SSerners voted Buhari. Biafra..I can only pray it happens, I doubt the reality. Only restructuring is feasible. The best we can do for ourselves is to be realistic. I do not expect any SEerners to barge into this thread and support the N or W but atleast let's enlighten ourselves..as that may be the bedrock of a future action. |
