Very good laws

..just like spraying naira notes.

There are many laws in Nigeria which are neither enforced nor implemented. As soon as Obiano leaves, it becomes obsolete. Heck! If any of their parents die, they will be the first to break the law.

You don't change foolishness by replacing it with foolishness. These stipulations are clearly unconstitutional.
No matter how distasteful some of these customs are the right approach is dialogue, education and persuasion.
People have the right to gather, eat and drink to celebrate or mourn the death of their dog if they like.
Yes you can talk of exposing dead bodies for public health but on what basis do you prohibit eating drinking and giving gifts if given voluntarily.
Some of these things fall within Native law and custom and as governor you cannot ban them anyhow.
By the way what is Easter all about if not a burial or remembrance

I like this new law, but pls remove that one of no food or drink during burial, it is left for the deceased's family to decide.

Hope it will not be selective and he will keep to the rules when it knocks on his own door as death is imminent
Still remembered the law on social distancing & compare to what happens in state/national political party's group photographs recently.

Re: New Burial Law In Anambra State: Obiano Gives Assent by eldoradoxx: 11:53am On Jun 04, 2020
If Ndi Anambra know what Obiano has just done for them they would troop out and thank him for saying that young man who is about to sell everything in his shop just to foot the huge burial bills of his late father or mother. That widow who has to borrow just to foot the huge bills for the burial of her husband. The quest for flamboyant burial has done more harm than good to the East. U have seen people arrested for peddling drugs or in other crimes confess that they did it just to afford the cost of burying a beloved one. Competition is natural to humans and therefore everyone wants to compete with his friend or neighbor even on issues such burials. With the new law in place, those who do little burial ceremony will be hailed as people who obey law while those who break it by organising flamboyant burials are the offenders. In such way the society gets its priority right. It would now be that it is not that I couldn't not afford to give the most elegant and flamboyant burial for my departed ones, it is because I am a law abiding citizen that wouldn't break the burial law

elaborate burials na thing of choice na. this idiots that made this laws do elaborate burials oo obviously this laws do not apply to them. Obiano buried his mum for up-to 7days. now the issue of live band will be a big deal because alot of youths in anambra are independent and living comfortably all thanks to live band and burials are a major source of their livelihood if u take this away from them u just want to push them into the streets thereby encouraging crime. This laws are bullshit please, how can you tell me how I'll bury my own? with my money?. Why not close casket businesses too

I don't have any problem with the law but where I'm concerned is when Gov Obiano or any member of his family, any past Governors and public officials and highly connected people in the state dies, if they don't respect the law and gives them a preferential treatment then, I will have a problem with them.

This is too restrictive. Compulsory expenses like demands from the maiden family and town unions should be curbed. Other expenses should be optional as far as I am concerned. If you have the money and want a big burial, there should be no law stopping you for Christ's sake. We are not in a communist country!
People just like to regulate other people's lives based on their own personal perspectives.
Let's see if this law will not be broken by the same people that made it
