Kudos to the president for this kind gesture. At least, Igbos can now let us rest on this forum. Those among them praying for the downfall of Adesina simply because he’s from the south west can now get preoccupied with praying for their Igbo daughter’s success.

I can also bet nobody will talk about nepotism on this thread. The fact that the president withdrew support from Yonov Agah, a Nigerian from the north central and now supports an Igbo lady should not go unnoticed. If it was the other way round, the fury of hell fire would be a child’s play to what they would bring down tonight. I wish her the best in the election.

The President has no choice than to put forward a sellable candidate, this is not local political appointment otherwise he would have nominated a Northerner as usual.

Same confused you would say that there are no Igbos in delta, Rivers and Cross river state.
Am I wrong to say that you speak from both sides of your mouth?

A sprinkling of Igbos in Delta state.

Absolutely no Igbos in Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.

You could probably have a lot of similarities among the border communities but the distinction is quite clear.

No Igbos in Cross River, No Igbos in Akwa Ibom.

We just have to present a more sellable candidate. Who is more sellable than Okonjo Iweala for now?
Definitely “same individuals” that have greatly excelled globally.

so u are trying to say Akinwumi Adesina is more sellable than aunty Ngor? Adesina is still a baby compare to aunty Ngor.

Sometime you amaze me with your posts Sir. And you are perhaps boosted by the likes.

Buhari will have to put his best foot forward. The other candidate may not be a sellable candidate. Okonjo will trounce any other candidate form anywhere else.

Trust me Bro! Okonjo is our biggest Human capital export right now.

Others who are growing their profiles include Adeshina, Amina etc.

Some of you who live on Nairaland would wince if you had just a small inkling into what plays out on the global career scene. Politics does play a role but expertise and antecedence are of primary consideration.

So for most International players they grow professionally while also expanding their political girth consistently.

The reference by the poster was to the two states I mentioned.

As regards Rivers and Benue, I cannot say I have the competence to state categorically if there are Igbos.

I could however tell you that I have heard a a few friends and Associates that bear distinctive Igbo names like Ngozi, Amaechi, Ebele, Tobe.

Benue I have no idea about.

Hmmm. I doubt if Buhari would want to nominate a former member of GEJ's cabinet. If it's true, then congratulations to her. But why should we continue to recycle same individuals for so many years?

Experience plays a vital role in some quarters. Buhari has done well.

While I was reading your comment without checking your name, I already knew it was you!

Your thought process is always tribalistic and selfish, no matter how much you try to hide it!

From your comment we all know that it pains you to your bone marrow that your slave master Buhari nominated an Igbo woman (instead of his usual Yoruba or Fulani), for the first time since 1984!!!!

It doesn’t matter what you feel, I wish her the best in the election. Her victory is strategic to Nigeria’s trade and foreign policies so i support her fully. Some of us don’t hate others unnecessarily like you guys.
Seriously bro., they're cord of disunity in this nation. That's why I don't see the Yoruba's ever joining sides with you guys, we will always prefer the North. They're so selfish and self-centered. They won't see any good from other tribe in being appointed in a certain position, other than them only. A Yoruba adage says..."you said a meat is full of bones...then throw it away! You said No! That it has few meat."

Y'all know what you can do to cede from Nigeria... You didn't raise all these noise when Jonathan was there...mumu set of people.

Until you learn to respect, see good in other tribes, show care and concern, contentment, goodwill and a spirit of fair play- (these are values to draw people to yourself and win them to yourself and respect your opinion) nothing TANGIBLE will come out for you from this Nigeria - I bet with you. You will be FRUSTRATED out las las ni

He was forced to. He has no option. This is a global position and not ECOWAS that he acts like kingKong there. His candidate cant even have up to 10% of NOI votes. Note you that its Western govt coalition that are pushing for NOI candidacy.

Go and read the books she wrote after leaving office, you will see she admitted to pressure from the cabals and witchhunt when her mother was kidnapped. As someone that has good name to protect, he should have honourably RESIGNED just like Kemi - the former finance minister did. Would she say she wasn't aware of the funds that were flying around during Jonathan's era? She decided to turn 'blind eye'

I respect her a lot for what she has achieved and I believed she has learnt her lesson. I hope she will be able to stand AGAINST what she sees contrary to her PRINCIPLES, esp. as regard finances

Please no igbo man prayed and will pray for Adesina's downfall. I am Igbo and i am Adesina's greatest fan. igbos love him because he did well under GEJ. He was outstanding and if not for anything,we want him to continue progressing so that GEJ can always be justified for meaning well for Nigeria by that appointment. Dont forget,Igbos voted for OBJ against Ojukwu in 2003. We dont hate Southwest. Get it ? Meanwhile, this is not an appointment,he may not win. PMB in this case does not have the final say so,dont celebrate yet.

Nepotistically, he could still have damned it all and support the candidature of the current deputy DG of the organization. You cannot be coming up with excuses such as this when the president appoints or support an Igbo for an important position then turn around and accuse him of nepotism when he appoints or support Nigerians from other regions into positions. It smarks of hypocrisy.

If at the stage of Buhari regime, you still believe that Buhari is not nepotistic, then you are irredeemably zombified!

Only God can help you! Even Aisha his wife can attest that Buhari is the epitome of Nepotism!!!!
