Check through nairaland and visit some profiles, go and read their comments from 2, 3 or even 5 years ago and you'll be surprised at how evolution works. People have joked about God, joked about suicide, joked about witchcraft etc, is it really farfetched that rape is joked about also? At 23 most Nigerians are still being fed, most Nigerians don't have a job, most are still very immature. The tweets were very bad and as bad as they seem, it proves nothing! It only shows his poor character and if we judge only based on that then 70% of all Nairalanders are socio/psychopaths!

LMAO....If the justice system worked based on tweets then we are all heading to jail. An competent lawyer would squash such a case with both eyes closed. LEt me paint a picture for you, a man in the North was caught red handed raping a young girl, the case was presented to court, the evidence was overwhelming but the man provided receipt of buying her things such as jewelries, clothes etc, the man presented eveidence that her friends and at least one family member was aware of the relationship. The judge tossed out the case! If a man that was caught red handed can go free in 9ja, you really think tweets is enough evidence for a conviction? I LAUGH IN SWAHILI

You want to accuse someone of rape better bring more than just a Tweet, remove emotions from your defense and focus solely on how the law works, if you do this you'll know that no uudge in his or her right mind can convict based on Tweets alone! You are mixing two different things and I really wish you would educate yourself on the judicial system. Court of public opinion is different from legal court, you've highlighted a case based on sentiments but failed to look at it from the eyes of the law. What would he be convicted of? A testimony and a tweet? Testimony has already been squashed becuase her witness said IT NEVER HAPPENED! Tweet alone will not get him convicted, so why would he bother with suing her? Abi you think this is the first time a celebrity would be accused of rape? The burden of proof is on the accuser not the defendant, so once again why would he sue her? A court case of any kind will just bring unecessary publicity, the damage is already done in the court of public opinion and no court case can fix that!
