That's not true and it not the pertinent issue.

In Europe if a General over night became a millionaire, and had assets in excess of his earnings. He would have a lot of explaining to do, not being praised as a trail blazer of innovation and competence.

You have several degrees of compliance with independent checks and balances. Continous audit. To ensure outcome delivery standards are kept and casualties kept to the outmost lowest.

A situation where combatants are not paid or underpaid. Or deployment in theatre exceeds agreed time limits almost impossible.

Add to that the oversight function of the legislative chambers separate or fused. Parliament essentially gives the common man a very LOUD and CLEARLY DISCERNABLE VOICE.

Nigerian combatants are expected to be dehumanised and say yes sir no matter the circumstances. In otherwords die in silence and when they talk some if us perversely condemn them.

Senegal, Uganda and Kenya are not our peers. Our peers are Algeria, Egypt, South Africa.

The problem is ourselves a mixture of ignorance and shameless sycophantic praise singing of incompetent leaders political and military. As a consequence we enthronme mediocrity and create way below par expectations.

Care to explain? Our defence budget is 1.2 bn$ for 25,000 guys . Yours is the same for 100000 in the triservices giving you a per capita spend 4 times less. We spend around 44,000$ per capita per year on training, operations, acquisitions, health, housing etc,etc while you spend 2 bn $ barely half on the same and it shows. While ofc we still have challenges like transport and FSBs our guys are paid 3x yours (a senior Sgt gets 70,000 kshs equivalent to a NA major),housing is decent, death benefits of 50,000$ are promptly paid and the greater financial allocation shows on the battlefield results. Can you compare our results in S Somalia (apart from the El Adde disaster thanks to a careless coy commander) with your own NE record of endless overrun bases and tragic losses due to lack of purpose built platforms ?
Pls expound?

Edit: which units constantly post graphic warfare pix and vids despite many warnings from the Brass;ours or yours?

Still waiting, komekn! Look at this. These are decade old pix of motorised convoys during the S Som invasion 2011. You'll notice every vehicle, every Panhard, every Puma MRAP,every WZ-551 has its own radio aerial. Can you honestly say the NA doesn't still lack such basic force multipliers after 8 yrs of war.
Also the KDF staged the operation with its own aviation, the 50 aircav, which has since upgraded the entire unit with new platforms -has the NA sorted out this CRITICAL issue yet? Yes,we're still short of air assets both choppers,FSBs and transport but tbh the NA isn't on the same level as the KDF qualitatively. Its not even close.

But you people here specialize in dick measuring negativity. When you are not insulting or condeming people for their opinions you are trying to score cheap points. our budget is in naira and not in dollar.... I'm pretty sure urs is in shillings and not in dollar too. But since we have to use a common currency for comparism, then we have to factor in their purchasing power parity.... U can't just tell me u spend $100 on something in kenya when I get that same thing here at $20.

BTW, when talking about peers, is expenditure on personnel the only prerequisite?

Nigeria may lose 24 councils to new UN state

‘Obasanjo, Biya ceded territories in 2003’

By July 10 this year, Nigeria may lose 24 local councils, by way of ceding, to a new country to be known as United Nations Organisation (UNO) State of Cameroon at its borders with la Republique du Cameroun.

The Guardian learnt that the withdrawal of his country’s soldiers by President Paul Biya from the southern part of the planned UNO State of Cameroon has set the stage for the creation of the new state being spearheaded by the UN.

The withdrawal of troops by Biya was formally demanded by the former President of the United Nations General Assembly, Ali A. Treki on May 20, 2020. This was disclosed in a May 26, 2020 letter of the UNO State of Cameroon to Prof. Martins Chia Ateh, the United Nations-appointed workshops coordinator in Cameroon and Nigeria.

Ateh said in the letter: “Greetings and thank you very much for the attached list of those who were detained in the Nkambe prison of Cameroon in August 2008.

“It is only now that the soldiers of la Republique du Cameroun are being withdrawn from the southern part of UNO State of Cameroon.” He said it was a good thing Treki kept the records straight.

On UN’s creation of a new country in Africa, Ateh said: “I should be getting back to you once the United Nations finishes with an official announcement on the existence of UNO State of Cameroon to the international community.”

While conceiving the new state, the former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan invited former President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria and Biya of Cameroon to sign documents respecting their countries’ international boundaries.

It was learnt that Obasanjo and Biya signed the documents in March 2003 to cede their twin territories (Northern and Southern Cameroons) to the proposed UNO new country in West and Central Africa.

The UN, according to recent reports, pledged to actualize a new State of Cameroon on July 10, 2020.

Residents of Southern Cameroon were excited over the merger of their land with Northern Cameroon in Nigeria, comprising 24 local government areas in Borno (five), Adamawa (12) and Taraba (seven) states.

The Guardian learnt that the Southern Cameroon residents have since last year during their agitations to separate tagged the UNO State of Cameroon as “Ambazonia.”

In Nigeria, the new country’s landmass extends from Bakassi Peninsula in Cross River State to Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State in the Lake Chad region.

While responding to ceding five local government areas from Borno State, an aide to Governor Babagana Zulum said: “We’ll study the recent unfolding developments on ceding Bama, Gwoza, Dikwa, Kala/Balge and Ngala councils to the UNO State of Cameroon.

“The state government will also be liaising with federal agencies on how to cede the affected local government areas as Obasanjo and Biya had signed documents with the UN to respect their international boundaries.”

According to the UN workshop coordinator and chairman, steering committee, Ateh, the councils to be ceded to UNO State of Cameroon, include Bama, Gwoza, Ngala, Kala/Balge, Dikwa. Others include Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Mayo/Belwa, Toungo, Ganye, Serti, Hong, Jada, Maiha and Jada councils.

It was learnt that before the announcement of the new state, the UN had kept Northern and Southern Cameroons under watch since Obasanjo and Biya signed the documents under the UN treaty.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of UN, Antonio Guterres has commenced the process of sensitization towards the July 10 date of creating the new state for the Anglophone separatists in Cameroon.

According to reports, Guterres has continuously reached out to the UNrepresentative in charge of the territories, Ateh to constantly organize sensitisation workshops on the brief history of the UNO State of Cameroon.

The UN is determined and constantly fingered as an interested party in the arrangement to actualize the new state.

The Nigerian government has been urged to carry out an investigation to establish the facts surrounding the ceding of 24 local government areas to create a new country.

According to Google Map, Nigeria, particularly in the Northeast region with a decade-long Boko Haram insurgency is sandwiched between its territory and Cameroon Republics, with Bakassi Peninsula and Lake Chad located south and northeast of the UNO State of Cameroon.

The new state will have a total landmass of 28, 214 square km with an estimated population of 20 million people. Last year’s 72-hour ultimatum given by the United States (U.S.) to Cameroon to withdraw its troops from la Republique du Cameroons was heeded by President Paul Biya last month.

Before the pullout, neither the U.S nor Cameroon had responded to the expiration date until Treki asked Biya to withdraw his troops.

The Speaker of the Cameroonian National Assembly, Cavage Yeguie Djibrilhad also asked the Cameroonian government to fully implement the new law on decentralization that seeks to grant greater power to local councils and regions.

Consequently, Biya signed the law on the promotion of official language in Cameroon, settlement law of the Republic of Cameroon for2020 financial year, last December.

The bill addresses the creation of assemblies of chiefs, regional assemblies and councils with each of the two territories having elected presidents, vice president, secretaries and public affairs management controllers.

The work of amazonian separatist no doubt!...either this is deliberate misinformation, or some ploy to get attention, so it just so happens Paul biya and obasanjo signed a deal no one heard about until now?...rediculous to say the least!...we are just getting the wind of this now?...no words from the presidency or biya?..the only business on 'disrupted Territory(s) we got with cameroun was the bakkasi crisis and villages that are on the northen border with cameroun, both of which have since been resolved, the Northen camerouns as it were had voted by a plebiscite to join Nigeria after '60, there has not been a clamour for an independent state from that end nor is there a territorial question, I'm very clinical to say the least about this

I have no understanding of the historical geo politics at play here and or which agreements were signed and and under what legal framework.

Nonetheless, considering the considerably large time frame in question. People have moved on evolved and integrated into multiple societies within the Nigerian state.

It's no longer simple, at the very least a referendum will be required on the Nigerian side.

Look up the 'greentree agreement' the erstwhile 'northern camerouns' have never been put into contention as it has been since '60 an integral and irrefutable part of Nigeria, It includes parts of Borno, adarmawa, and yobe state in a 'UNO state' is laughable, I'm not saying I have all the information, but I have a fair knowledge of the bakkasi conflict, the only deal signed between biya and obasanjo was the greentree agreement in '05, before that time?...they got both their legs on their necks

I asked a simple question based on an article.... a simple question and you sick degenerates pounce on it lack a pack of hungry wolves. ..and for those of you coming to my twitter page. It takes an incredible amount of stupidity to keep returning to the handle you all disparage and condem. Like i said before you all are free to wallow in your negativity and stupidity. What a bunch of sick hateful people. In your hatred and jealousy you have become dark beyond the point of redemption. So continue hating, continue trying to look for holes so you can sleep better at night. Bunch of fools.
21000 with 80% brainwashed.
Guy I have a FB page with 2,450 likes it's not up to a year.i do almost D same as yours but I can't tell I'm better than u

Say what you want he is right in a way. I saw nothing to warrant this back and forth argument. He has the largest twitter following in Nigeria for a military blog. He came here looking for answers which i find admirable and you all turn it into a turkey fight. How can we grow if we keep fighting over trivials. We need to stop chasing people away with our attitude sometimes IMHO.
you're not getting the point.
We are trying to tell him to stop Posting things that aren't yet clarified or rather fake things on his Handle.
Even Brenda Uji the popular war Journalist has warned him

What is the current situation of the massive military operation going on here in the Northeast?

Sincerely everywhere looks quiet.

Is Buratai still here in Borno?

You sound exactly like what he is describing. Insecure, jealous and hateful. Read his engagements and compare it to what we have here. Je just gave put N100,000 in give away to appreciate his followers. He is far more knowledgeable than you. His tweets are engaging. Stop acting like a jealous child and be mature for once. He is doing a thousand times better. Grow up please.
