I stepped outside my house building to dispose my trash can at the main dustbin when I almost stepped on it with a bathroom slippers. I intend to keep it as a pet. Anyone knows the name of this spider and if it’s venomous?

If it turns out to be venomous and you're stung, you're OYO bro, I doubt any hospital in Naija get spider antivenom

Looks like a Tarantula, they make very good pets though, keep it in a simulated habitat and feed it with little insects....By the way tarantulas sting are non harmful to humans

Tarantula or black widow, not sure which one. I'd be careful if it's the latter though, the sting could be fatal

Black widows are skinnier and they stand taller. Definitely a Tarantula!

..When I was around 7yrs old,I saw a spider,then I was like if it bit me, I could turn spiderman,I took and disturbed the hell out of it,I wan placing it on my arm,it would try to run and fall,I would place it back,for almost a. hour,then it bit me,around the same area where Spiderman got bitten,my hand became heavy,the pain was like a big stick was forced into my hand and someone was turning the stick in my hand,it was burning,I was like"this is it,the web was building up inside,I saw only a tiny reddish swollen hole,I waited and waited,dumbly swinging my hand like spiderman,whether the webs would spill out,nothing happened,The pain only worsened,the hand got more swollen,then I killed the spider with anger. I lived with the pain for Three good days,My hand was just getting heavier and the pain increased. Since then I hated spider,..till now,..anytime I will bash them..Their webs is problem. But I no believe sey I fit type something like this oooo..

How do people keep spiders as pet?

When u're bored will you speak igbo or yoruba to a spider?
