This PDP never get sense, why can't they wait for APC primaries first?

Meanwhile, this is game over for obaseki, if he didn't win APC primaries then he is done, he can't even cross to PDP, because they would have concluded their primaries before APC
I think the contestants in PDP INTENTIONALLY did that in their party, to prevent him from making a hasty cross-over and rubbing them of their chance to be the party nominee grin grin.
It has been happening in the past that the incubent will lose face in his party and then cross to another party to automatically pick the ticket.

That happened in Benue where Gov. Orthom won first term under APC but since Buhair's Herdsmen would not stop killing his people and Buhari will not stop them, he crossed over to the main opposition PDP, and all the waiting contestants have to stand-dwon for him. Benue is now a PDP state under the same orthom.

But Obaseki own don finish, maybe he will defect ot KOWA party grin grin

Those complaining about APC direct primarie, are u aware that PDP Edo State chapter conducted her ward and local government congress today to elect delegates who will vote in their indirect primaries slated for 19th?
Funny enough Obaseki covid19 gazette did not stop them from having above 20 persons at various ward.
A learning point for those who still do not understand what indirect primary is all about.

I never know you are this naive....so a student will dictate to waec how to conduct their exams? Inec only take directives from party chairmen not governors...they governors cannot 've a judge in their own case ....Whether you believe it or not doesn't matter. What matters is that Inec has finally released their timetable and is official apc in Edo is going for direct primaries ...since obasaki is popular according to him, let the people speak
INEC has a job to do and obaseki as the governor has a job to do accordingly. Let everyone do their job. Nobody will risk escalating covid19 because of primaries in Edo State.

The president is not with Oshiomole on this one. He is on his own(one man army) and on the verge of loosing his job again like sm months back. He hasn’t learnt his lesson so he will learn by force.

Obaseki is Apc and Chief security officer of the state. Oshiomole will be arrested if he enters Edo to disrupt Edo primaries.
Certainly, Oshiomole will never distrupt the election that he is the one organising, only Obaseki the loser can attempt that.

By the way, is Obaseki going to arrest Oshiomole by himself or he will use the Police?
Who will the Police listen to, Obaseki or their C.P?
Who will the CP listen to, Obaseki or his IGP.

Oshiomole is operating at a National level, just like the IGP.
I am sure yo get my point but if you dont, your middle name na Obaseki. grin grin

Then why didn’t others adopt it? Keep deceiving urselves. Obseaki will give the final word. He is responsible for the health of the state.

No direct primaries in Edo State. Period
Which kain talk be this one na?

Are you a learner?

Since when did politicians start thinking about doing the right thing?

99 percent of Politicians like to cut corners as much as possible.

In fact if politicains really want to carry the people along in this country, no party will even go for indirect primaries.

Indirect primaries is actually a very undemocratic and discriminatory process where one politician votes on behalf of over 300 people.
Re: Edo Primaries: INEC Releases Update by tope777(m): 9:44pm On Jun 09, 2020
Direct Vs Indirect Primary.

Direct Primary = 1No of election in all wards.(Not for delegates but General party members)
Indirect primary = 2Nos of elections: a)election in all wards to elect delegates.
b) Election among delegates to choose the candidate.( Delegates would be Commissioners, LGA chairmen, all government apponintee)

Indirect election is more complicated, it will exposed people to COVID-19 .

Direct is more democratic.

Direct Primary is the best.

Stop using covid19 as example ..kindly go through this below

Contrary to popular beliefs,
Direct primary is even more favourable at this covid 19 times.

For Direct primary people just gather at their wards and vote for their flag nearer. And it's done!

But for Indirect primary, people firstly gather at the wards to vote delegates. These delegates in their thousands then gather at the stadium to vote the flag bearer.

With regards to the issue of covid 19, direct is better.

Lots of people are ignorant of the two concept ...is important you know what u are supporting ...every electorate should wear mask and observe social distances....the number of people going for that primaries are not up to 500k ....

There is lockdown in Edo State. Only indirect primaries will take place there for covid19 measure reasons.

Obaseki has said the state can not risk direct primaries. It’s is for the safety of the state and it’s final unless u don’t want to hold primaries.

Just dey watch, e go do you like Nollywood.
INEC is a federal body and it has contitutional authority to organise election anywhere in Nigeria and it will be supervising this one.
Obaseki will be placed on house arrest if he tries nonsense, las las Fed Govt wil conduct the elections under a State of Emergency, if he tries to stop the elections. Under that circumstance, his immunity is removed and he cant control federal Security Agencies.
Dont forget that the IGP has control over the CP in Edo State, IGP is selected by the President and the President is a member of oshiomole's APC. grin grin

Adams Oshiomole eventually had his way. Obaseki was just a noise maker.

We told anybody that one to hear, It is only party chairman that INEC recognizes as the mouth piece of any party, not any yeye Governor or even the President

Even with Indirect Primary, delegates have to be elected at Ward Level
Exactly, I don't know why people believe Obaseki will have choice on the mode of conducting the primary. He can only lobby wit the party chairman unfortunately he was nagging wit d party supremacy..

So, Oshiomole was not elected by the people, from his ward, up to state, before being elected at national level of the party?

Inec is gradually airing out their frustration for APC to insist on direct election which they feel is not safe for the state. Some people cannot read in between lines. They shouting Obaseki is gone. It is just a subtle way of saying we are not comfortable with APC stands of direct mode of primarie.
