I need first hand views on running guest OSes in Virtual Box

Is this a feasible idea these days?

Last i tried Virtualbox a few years ago, the performance was too poor, especially graphics wise. couldn't run any sort of games in a VM for instance, no matter how much resources was available to the VM

The stories of VM performance been too slow is outdated in my view. It all depends on the host machine running the VM. Today's laptops with good specs ie 16GB & above and an i7 or even i5 processor will run a VM well. Of cos nothings beats running the OS directly on the machine but trust me there are so many systems today running VMs than ever before. Just give it ago, that is why it is a VM smiley

PS: As I type I am running several virtual machines in this OS/VM; https://www.proxmox.com/en/. It is basically an OS that manages all your virtual machines and can run headless.

I will suggest you download the iso file and then use Ventoy tool (ventoy.net/en/index.html) on your USB where you dont need to "burn" the iso file. Just copy and paste the iso in a "Ventoyed" USB and you can boot the USB and load as many .iso files on that USB. Try Ventoy out and thank me later.

Glad everything worked out well for you. Rufus is a good bootable USB tool but my recommended solution was that you stop "writing" ISOs as you did Rufus when you start using Ventoy. You just copy and paste. It is a better solution in my view.

ok open your terminal on that folder.
Then
type
chmod +x assaultcube.sh
if executed successfully
Then type
./assaultcube.sh
To install the programme or run it

Alternatively you can open the readme file in that folder the installation process would be there

Pls I can't log in to my dual boot of Ubuntu and Windows.
Any time I try to log in, after entering password and clicking enter it just loads and returns back to the login page.
And the password is correct and I can't even login and do anything

What if you type ctrl+alt+f1 and login to the terminal? Do you get any error?

Thanks for helping but I have fixed it.
I couldn't log in to the shell mode so when I was in grub boot menu I choose advanced option for ubuntu.
After that I choose root access and then sudo apt-get purge chrome-remote-desktop.
