The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Friday assessed his regime as the nation commemorates Democracy Day and returned a verdict that he has recorded “notable achievements.”

Buhari made the declaration in his nationwide broadcast to the nation.

The President said, “We have recorded notable achievements in the course of implementing our nine priority objectives and are establishing a solid foundation for future success.

“On the economic front, our objectives have remained to stabilise the macroeconomy, achieve agricultural and food security, ensure energy sufficiency in power and petroleum products, develop infrastructure, fight corruption and improve governance.

“We have witnessed eleven quarters of consecutive GDP growth since exiting recession. The GDP grew from 1.91% in 2018 to 2.27% in 2019 but declined to 1.87% in the first quarter of 2020 as a result of the decline in global economic activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

You have maintained the presence of Boko Haram in the North East continuing the legacy of Goodluck and Yar Adua.

You have allowed to price of fuel to skyrocket taking it to greater heights than any other administration.

You have allowed the exchange rate to quadruple since you took the oath of office making purchase of goods more expensive and complicated.

You have overseen the destruction of farms and properties by herdsmen and bandits not only in the North but in the entire country.

You managed to achieve not one but 2 recessions.

You have improved international relations by constantly touring the world using taxpayers money to fund your medical trips, vacation and your daughter's projects while local hospitals remain in shambles.

You have made sure that the affairs of state are conducted by shady background characters to the point where your own wife has to complain.

You have inspired hard work in all sectors by blaming the laziness of youths for the situation of Nigeria while allowing old and dull men to continue occupying offices and receiving pay without achieving anything.

You have continued to spread peace by allowing the military to gun down protestors in the streets and allowing the DSS to violate court orders without any punishment.

For this we say Sai Baba and wish that you receive multiple times over what you have done for Nigeria.
