Yeap I know but the Proforce do not have the capacity of producing over 100 vehicle a year and we can’t wait for them.
Am talking about immediate use and MRAP with RWS we really need a handful of them. Buying this fairly used vehicles from Russia and America, that’s doesn't stop us from still patronizing Proforce has they do not produce RWS and other surveillance equipment.
I didn't say I don't agree with the idea.

Yes, true. The circumstances, we do not know.
But looking at that video, there were 2 executioners armed. Behind the camera, we don't know.

But they would die regardless, why not fight and get shot. They were 2 forcemen, not 1. If it was 1 man, then his moral is dented. But 2 force men, no no.

There is nothing they could have done bro. They used commercial cars we regularly use on that Road. ISWAP mounted an IVCP. I am even surprised how the soldier had a uniform on. I guess after doing their Operation show ID they must have discovered and told him to bring out his uniform in a bag. Soldiers dont use uniform on that road except they are with their Rifle.

Tho i had a friend who on the December 22, 2019 road block by ISWAP he refused to follow them in their truck and was shot as he tried running.

Now, that your friend is a real Soldier. Trust me, am not trying to be silly. But I see 2 force men kneeling down there. I don't think that soldier knows what his uniform represents.

They would both die for sure, why not make it hard for the terrorists. That is what real soldiers do.

No, i am actually sad that they were killed like that. The army is voluntary service to the nation, so that's not my fault.
But, truly am not happy how they died. They should have fought those terrorists, and die in the process.

The Humvee is far better na grin

Who told you that? A standard Humvee will not stop any kind of projectile. It is no different in that respect to a civilian SUV.

An up-armored Humvee can stop essentially all pistol rounds, and most common rifle rounds (7.62x39mm, 5.45x39mm, 7.62x54mmR, 7.62x51mm NATO). It will NOT stop a .50 caliber round, nor will it protect against anti-tank weapons or IEDs.

You have spoken like a Child, Nigeria lost Bakassi but retained a deeper continental shelf, & a broader EEZ, there is no proven oil reserve of commercial quantity in the Peninsula so to what end are we fighting over a stretch of land into the ocean?

The greentree agreement requires the people are not evicted, sadly, Cameroon breached that agreement else those guys would've settled peacefully.

Speaking of military occupation by Abacha, that's an irresponsible reference point.
Abacha's strong man posture was no match for France in a proxy war, a nuclear power and a permanent UNSC member means France will win both militarily & diplomatically.
I laughed hard when you claimed nobody will fight for Cameroon, that's a very ignorant statement.

Cameroon in1961 did not sign any declaration of independence but pacté coloniele agreement in it France has offer of first refusal on all Cameroonian EEZ in exchange for security.
The only thing France needed was for Total SA to prove the Peninsula had oil in commercial quantity, in partnership with Porenco in 1993, the Seismic report was not impressive.
Under French advisory, Cameroon took the legal route.

If the Seismic data of that peninsular turned out positive, one French Amphibious operation will re-unite all Abacha soldiers with their creators, according to British intelligence at the time, France had no plans of occupying Bakassi alone but deep into cross river state down to Odukpani in the north, then occupy deep into the Atlantic ocean in the South.

The reason is to make it difficult for Nigeria to launch a reprisal, that will force Nigeria to go the diplomatic route and France with her veto at the UNSC will own cross river state forever.
Such was the tragedy OBJ averted. There was no front of that war Nigeria would've won.
This scenario would've played out again if OBJ didn't hand over, France will act under the pretext of enforcing intl law.

The precarious position Nigeria was at the time can not be compared with Israel from the 6 days war to the Yom-kippor war.
This is largely because Israel at the time won those countries militarily before occupying their lands, diplomatically, Britain & US had Israel's back at the UNSC. Conversely, Abacha was a diplomatic mess, from 1995 was under Commonwealth sanctions, UN was already preparing an embargo before his fortunante demise, consequently, you don't think Abacha will win France militarily in a proxy war.
The situations were different for Israel & Nigeria, nothing to compare.

Speaking of Israel, 38yrs after the Camp david accord of 1978 which moulded Egypt into a formidable military might, Israel lost the military advantage or at best was in a position where a military offensive with Egypt has become costly, quickly handed over the Sainai to Egypt.

Dont think for once Israel will occupy Golan heights if Syria was a formidable force with Russian diplomatic backing.

The main takeaway from this episode:chose your battles wisely! What would anyone have gained from thousands of Naij KIA plus loss of Cross river?

Capacity for what❓ The add to that best value and most effective use of scarce resources.

Innoson is simply assembling Chinese copy cat engineering SUV. They are not armoured and in terms of durability and reliability that's another debate.

Proforce has very limited capacity again they use the chassis of a number of vehicles including Toyota pick ups and up armoured them.

There has been s technology transfer with regards to the MRAP vehicles they make from the original parent company partner.

The NA need at least 1000 + armoured vehicles today not tomorrow.

That means you need tried, tested and proven APC's, LAV's, IFV's ( do we have any at all) MRAP's as well as at least 200MBT's and to ensure operation effectiveness and move to a proactive approach at least 10 heavy lift helicopters. To ensure supply logistics support.

Anybody have an idea how much a soft skinned Toyota truck costs❓ my estimation $60k could be more. Anybody know how much the soft skinned Chinese questionable quality innoson BAIC pick up costs? ❓ Again my estimation at least $35k.

Our procurement has to be delivery NOW not tomorrow. And every one has to be armoured STANAG level 2 minimum.

First world Countries buy huge amounts of military hardware in thier defense budgets. With the exception of the USA most of this equipment hardly ever get used.

If you go across the Eastern block you will find multiple armoured vehicles platforms that have less than 5000km but are 10 years old.

These Eastern block countries with these huge stockpiles are looking at some of them as scrap metal.

If you look on page 1221 there are pics of what seems to me is BTR 60. These are the older ones it seems with the gasoline engines they can be bought for a less than $10K. I would look for the later BTR 80 models wholesale sale and if needed refurbished in Nigeria. Per unit price £50k. We should have at least 600.

With regards to LAV then procure the GAZ Tigre brand new unit price whole sale 1000 units should not be more than $100K they are STANAG 2.

IFV you have the Eastern block BMP2 again dirt cheap across the Eastern block $100k per unit 300.

MBT Czech Republic dashed Iraq 150+ some years ago that is how readily available they are. We really should not have less than 300 T72 upgraded or not.

These are all very cheap stop gap measures that are 1000 times better than the soft skinned suicide boxes we have our troops going in a forward frontal assault.

In the NE 95 % of the enemy are using AK47, the rest of the threats comes from IED, Rpg7 and the ubiquitous Gun trucks. If you are all in armoured vehicles vehicles you significantly reduce the enemy capacity to ambush also with the right vehicles you don't follow already established tracks again limiting the IED threats.

The enemy is very fluid and constant on the move and when in one place dug in bunker style buy always on the move.

The NA approach seems to be conventional and very reactive. Do we have semi autonomous search and destroy companies in groups of 10-15 armoured vehicles doing search and destroy across the areas of contention in the NE ❓ I DON'T KNOW.

Search and destroy is mainly about mobility you really need LAV's like the Russian Tigre or Amy other. Long range and very good off road capability. The USA JLTV is undoubtedly the best but like with all USA arms stupendously over priced $360k+ per unit.

AT this stage in out development NVG goggles and optic sights should be close to standard with personal communication infrastructure.

You're right about the Gaz Tigre but where do you get the other prices? I've got rebuilt BTR-60s going for 200k $! -80s are twice that while the BMP 2 is a million dollars!?.

SR is full of it. Posting the execution of one soldier by ISWAP as a headline item is stupid. It is cowardly to shoot an unarmed prisoner of war. It is even more abhorrent to post the picture. Many news media organizations reported the shooting and Nigerians did not complain but to post the pictures is spreading evil propaganda for Boko Haram.
We will be asking questions when the owner/founder of SR presents himself for elections again. If you don't love your country and don't support its Army, you are not going to be voted for in this country
