Now i can see the madness has began. Next on the line is ask that Kudirat, or which ever of the wife's/concubines that's next also be recognized as ex 1st Lady. Guys that should be thanking Buhari for life for going beyond everyone's expectations in this aspect are now here playing Oliver Twist who wants more and more.

If you win an election and unfortunately die before you are sworn in you can never be recognized as an ex President/Governor etc.

In 1996, i got admission offer to Federal Poly Afikpo but didn't go. No matriculation, no registration. So can i come now and claim to be recognized as an Alumni or ex student of Afikpo Poly? When i never set foot in the school?
If i do so, I'll be on the same level of madness as what some Abiola family folks as are doing now.

What EX- President? This family should move on abeg. Many persons like Martin Luther King Jr had their own heroics in America, yet every year u don't keep hearing about their children or family cashing out daily and holding their countries with unreasonable demands

No mind them. Despite changing almost all Government buildings to his name, giving him GCFR, shifting a democracy day to his day; they still want this so they can be cashing out.

Later they might even say the Son should be made President in his father's stead sef.

I've said it before, Abiola may have been worse than Abacha had he been President. Sometimes we don't know what God is doing for us.

truthfully, M K O Abiola deserved to be recognized as former President of Nigeria.

If Abacha , with his brutality and authoritarianism , can be regarded as former Nigerian leader . There is nothing wrong for Abiola to have the same treatment.

Moreover , Abiola has been honoured with highest recognition in Nigeria which is only awarded to President and former president ( GCFR)
Abacha is recognized as a former leader, was Abiola declared winner? Was he sworn in as president?
You lot have come with stupid sentiments again.
Abiola was never president even for a second so why recognize him as former president?

What do they want again after naming major place/school after him?.

If u name him as ex-president u think it is not clear he was never a president?

The earlier they believe in DESTINY the better for them..... If God has ordained him to be president no thousand IBB could have stopped him.

No beef..this is the simple truth. You were not sworn in,in any nations of the world it takes swearing in to be a president of that nation and that did not happen to Abiola.

The FG have already declared a day for you guyz and tagged it as Democracy day, even though we know the actual Democracy day is May 29, so pls don't push it.

If you are given a hand shake don't take an arm shake.

That's how you guyz will wake up tomorrow and say Nigeria/Nigerians should just install his son as the president without election as a way to honour Abiola ..imagine who does that, enough of Abiola issue is high time we face important issues bothering the living.
Your argument is not sound. You forget that the law also says, if you win election, you're supposed to be sworn in. Now if the law failed to stand then, why must it now be applied to deny him. This is the simple truth.

Has justice been served? How do you compensate a man who won the presidency but denied due to evil machination of enemies of Nigeria? If you were the one in question, would you feel that you have justice? Think, then you can answer. Its easier to take a position on peoples' matters, but if the tables were turned and we are directly affected, we may not decide in that manner.

Making him GCFR, posthumously and June 12 democracy day is the highest honor he can receive.
Asking him to be declared ex President is an unthinkable, selfish and unreasonable attempt to rewrite history.

It's mind boggling that as wealthy as MKO was in his lifetime, "his family members have been suffering,” after his death.

If this were even remotely possible, then we can as well begin to consider declaring the likes of Awo who contributed more, ex-presidents. An act they will likely resent if they had a say, considering the rot in the nation.
But then, to what end.

Sir, hope you are aware late Chief Abiola was not the only one harmed by the June 12 annulment? I was still a kid then, but am aware a whole lot of people (who actually owned the mandate by the way) were brutalized and killed. A whole lot of Champions for democracy have also lost their lives in the cause of fighting for our emacipation from oppressive rule. Let's remeber Abiola and keep the fight for total democratization of Nigeria and not trying to score cheap points.

Let me ask you. Who are the Beneficiaries of this compensation, his family right?

Now you see, a call to public service is a call to serve. Public servants were know to live modest lives after service.
But in our time, it has become an opportunity to enrich oneself and amass stupendous wealth.
If Abiola won the election and was not declared Winner, the real losers are the masses who were robbed of their vote and not his family. The same thing is going on today in the form of rigged elections.
Who will compensate all the victims of rigged elections
Who will compensate all those who innocently lost their lives in senseless boko haram killings because the state was unable to provide security.
Who will compensate the millions of youths who are jobless today because the money that was allocated for economic growth was stolen by those that hijacked their votes.
Who will compensate the unborn children that will suffer hardship because of the greediness of their ancestors.

The best thing our leaders can do to compensate us is to right the wrongs:

Govern us well.
Give us the opportunity to pick our leaders.

Nigeria will be great again.

You got democracy day, you got streets in almost all major capital of Nigeria, his name was change to university....now you want former president. I now see reasons why his children could not compete with dangote after their father's Demice.
