Recognized him as ex president and assume he rule us like Buhari since one of the children said both Abiola and Buhari have the same agenda will do more damage to the already tattered image of the family.

He did those in his first term.

I think buhari has gotten everything he needs from the south west.

Let me ask you. Who are the Beneficiaries of this compensation, his family right?

Now you see, a call to public service is a call to serve. Public servants were know to live modest lives after service.
But in our time, it has become an opportunity to enrich oneself and amass stupendous wealth.
If Abiola won the election and was not declared Winner, the real losers are the masses who were robbed of their vote and not his family. The same thing is going on today in the form of rigged elections.
Who will compensate all the victims of rigged elections
Who will compensate all those who innocently lost their lives in senseless boko haram killings because the state was unable to provide security.
Who will compensate the millions of youths who are jobless today because the money that was allocated for economic growth was stolen by those that hijacked their votes.
Who will compensate the unborn children that will suffer hardship because of the greediness of their ancestors.

The best thing our leaders can do to compensate us is to right the wrongs:

Govern us well.
Give us the opportunity to pick our leaders.

Nigeria will be great again.
Well said. Who will compensate all the activists and students who died in the process of actualizing the June 12 mandate? Many of these Frontline people remain nameless till date.

truthfully, M K O Abiola deserved to be recognized as former President of Nigeria.

If Abacha , with his brutality and authoritarianism , can be regarded as former Nigerian leader . There is nothing wrong for Abiola to have the same treatment.

Moreover , Abiola has been honoured with highest recognition in Nigeria which is only awarded to President and former president ( GCFR)

Say what u know. Non-presidents also receive the title

TECHNICALLY ABIOLA NEVER WON THE ELECTION BECAUSE THE FINAL RESULT WAS NEVER COLLATED OR ANNOUNCED.

SHOULD THE COVID-19 CONTINUE LIVERPOOL WILL NEVER LAY CLAIM TO WINNING 2019/2020 SEASON.

HE IS BETTER ADDRESSED AS EX-CONVICT. THAT ONE WAS FULLY ESTABLISHED.

No beef..this is the simple truth. You were not sworn in,in any nations of the world it takes swearing in to be a president of that nation and that did not happen to Abiola.

The FG have already declared a day for you guyz and tagged it as Democracy day, even though we know the actual Democracy day is May 29, so pls don't push it.

If you are given a hand shake don't take an arm shake.

That's how you guyz will wake up tomorrow and say Nigeria/Nigerians should just install his son as the president without election as a way to honour Abiola ..imagine who does that, enough of Abiola issue is high time we face important issues bothering the living.
spot on!!!

See you celebrating a criminal Abacha while berating a man who won the freest and fairest election we have ever had. You liken someone that contested and won overwhelmingly to an intelligent pupil that never sat for exam, are you wise at all?
Did you vote for Abacha? Who made him president or head of state?
In saner climes, Bubu should be in prison for treason for overthrowing a democratically elected government. If Nigeria is not a fantastically corrupt country and sh*those, tell me how coupist like IBB, Gowon, Abacha, Bubu are recognized as ex-head of state?
Adonko:
Am simply quoting you cos of the bolded cos there is no truth in what you are saying, the fact that a child was the most intelligent student in a particular class is not a necessary/sufficient condition to promote him to another level if he did not sit for the promotional exam is unheard-of.

In saner climes, he was not supposed to be honored with the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR), but we let that slide for Peace sake. So weather Abacha was bad, brutal or whatever the truth here is that he was once a president and that cannot be swept under the carpet even at death. So including this in your write up was very unnecessary.

Many of us wished he (Abiola) was president, but looking at it from another angle, recognizing him as ex president may be selective treatment. The election was canceled by Abacha so he wasn’t even officially announced winner. He (Abiola) declared himself winner. Question is, what happens to the winners of elections rigged in Nigeria by PDP and APC from 1999 To date?

In the late 80's to early 90's, I never fancied this MKO until around 92 when I began to evaluate his effort and gestures towards others, I came to realised he was not just a generous man but a true lover of others. Therefore I have no choice that to support his presidential ambition as demonstrated by the vote of others who also belived in him and my single vote which was actually the last time I voted. This man was denied his right by the Ibb junta after he aborted the rolling out official compilation of the result in the face of a overwhelming win by MKO..... It was actually a daylight robbery that ignited the hidden anger in majority of Nigerians..... I was almost becoming a casualty when a tear gas narrowly miss my head in ibadan.
....... Only for someone who was never a supporter of MKO from the onset, probably one of those that gave support to the annulment (OBJ) was last later scripted to become the overall beneficiary of the June 12 struggles.....
Southwest states in the beginning of this 4th Republic gave due recognition to June 12 but OBJ refused...... Until Jonathan came up..... Now pmb did better on that but I still belived nothing stop Nigeria from recognising MKO as an ex president.... He truly died for the sake of Nigeria and for Nigerians. And let me add, only the name of MKO will be mostly remembered for centuries when the future generations begin to discuss what happened in Nigeria between 1980—1999. Leave it or take it, forget his ills, that singular act made him an Hero than other Awo, Zik, Balewa, etc.

Rest in peace MKO

I pray that the daylight robbery going on in Nigeria will stop soon :

Coup plotters are more recognised than those that work their way to the top,

Illegally rich people oppressing the middle class who work legally,

Thief becoming owner and owner getting punished,...

God heal your land

one day one of his lazy sons will wake up and tell Nigerian to swear him in as president to honour his late father, mko is their bread winner bla bla bla , so they haven't been eating bread since he died
