Ok thanks my initial plan was to go 24V but lead acid, since i am going lifepo4 i had to settle for the 12V

The inverter does not have inbuilt charger it is a stand alone inverter

Ok the makeskyblue 40A or 60 which will be better as i don't want to use more than 4 panels 250-360w panel because of space, make landlord nor go vex for the roof mata

I will search for the 12V LFP charger

Get the 60A makeskyblue or powermr both are of similar spec.

Yeah since it's still new you will get a little above capacity (say 110AH) just for a few cycle. Trust me it was almost full by the time you started the test

If you are interested in variable charger please indicate. 40A available 2-12v

Hi All. I am using a famicare inverter 1kva with one 200ah battery. Whenever the battery is full, immediately it starts charging again. This happens intermittently several times. Could it be battery or the inverter?? Also, how can i prevent low/high current from damaging my battery/inverter??

Depending on charging source, at 3.45v can get the battery full.....you were probably already at over 90% when you stopped. The charging current would have tapered down if you allowed it a few more minutes. Just curious why did you stop? Were you doing the charging without BMS?

I have not hooked up the bms yet. I don't want stories. The bms I have is more expensive than the battery so I can't use it with it. I set the inverter to 14v and I noticed I doesn't float, inverter will stop once the battery is at 14v

Lol that's understandable, as to BMS you mean your 12v BMS is over 100k?

Ok so in calculating

Normal voltage 3.2V i.e 3.2x4

Or the

Resting Voltage 3.3V i.e 3.3Vx4

I will work on adding solar to the set up later, how many Watts panel do you think i need to plan for since i am going for the 12V lifepo4 bank

But i think i will start with Nepa changing first, bcus of Budget limitation, so what type of charger will you recommend?

This is the inverter i will be buying the 12V 4000W which is actually 1800-2000W in reality, its budget friendly and the review online seems to show it sine wave is actually clean

Is that AliExpress page?

Jumia Global item

I think you should be careful with getting the inverter via Jumia Global. Someone here has posted before of an inverter he got via Jumia global that was advertised as Pure some wave but turned out to be modified wave.

Some of those Jumia global also source the products on sites like AliExpress, so if not for the Corona problem that has slowed down things, I'll have suggested you place the order directly on AE yourself. I have seen this inverter on AE, I'll see if I can retrieve the link and post it for you.

At 3.2v, your average LFP is about 80% spent - that is the safe point to cut off if you want a surer chance of long life for your batteries.

Majority of Jumia Global sellers are sellers on Banggood, Jumia Global items comes with cheap shipping too, this same inverter is about 8-10k to ship from Aliexpress why jumia is 1200 shipping and 1750 customs

When ever i want to review item i see on Jumia Global i go to Banggood and check buyers reviews

That same inverter that guy bought i never rated because details about the inverter where scares, little or no YouTube reviews

But this inverter i have seen some buyers review on the Banghood and YouTube, and they agreed the sine wave in clean but the ratings of the inverter is not as stated that is a 1000w is probably 300-400w in real terms.

I can do with that but if the product go last na waytin i nor know,.

The rate brands dey cut money for inverter is just too much

This product have been on my radar since March this year, so far the reports are good

I am only buying this for now bcus of budget. Though i have not placed the order

Saw this somewhere

The LiFePO4 battery has hybrid characters: it is as safe as the lead-acid battery and as powerful as the lithium ion battery.

I didn't know @bolded. That's interesting. Maybe I'll consider it a way around some items that have prohibitive shipping costs on AE. Regular Jumia products gets delivered to me in about 5 days.

How long does it take from placing order to delivery at doorstep on Jumia global?

My principle has been to have a premium brand and then good unknown brands as backup in the event of failure of the latter. Also the unknown brands are very good platforms for experimenting DIY for me.

Wow!! Just Wow!! I have to come out of hibernation to give you thumbs up. That's a great feat you have achieved there. Keep it up Man.

Are you still using your Zenith Batteries or you've changed them? That should be close to how many years now? And still without Battery Balancers right?

Also your solar water heater. How is it faring?

I bought the 48v Felicity lithium and my first impression is not good. I tried to do a test drain overnight.
It gave me about 90AH drain overnight. I then set my Water Pump on it to drain it further.
I got to about 115AH when my inverter shutdown at about 49v. I wasn't sure which shut down first,
my inverter or the battery. But the battery was still (or back) on when I checked. At this point, I can not
recommend this battery based on expected AH output.

@adrusa
Its really a shame that Felicity will just come out with such bogus ratings to deceive the whole world. Why not come out with the actual things. People who will buy will surely buy. And in saner climes, they would have withdrawn their licenses. We should not encourage such things in Nigeria.

I was tempted to buy too but after speaking with one of the distributors, he confirmed that the 48V/200AH is actually 6kwh and not 7.5kwh as advertised. I told him point blank that they should stop deceiving people with "mouth watering offers". The last straw that broke the camel's back for me was that he said their BMS cant be monitored that they are still developing/researching to make it better. For me, that is a No No as I love to see data and lithium batteries shouldn't be taken lightly. At the right time, I will invest in premium ones that will give me all that.

Hello GeorgeD1,

After this your post I went hunting for the Morningstar CC that offers 200A and could not find. Could you please educate us on how you achieved the 190A showing on your screen? A lot of us are willing to learn.

While at it what's your cable size for such an amperage. Thanks. I'm also interested in the number and rating of panels that can give above 10kw instantaneous.

Hello essegis,
I see niyi and JUO already done justice to this. Sorry I'm just seeing your post now.
Yes, I'm using the tristar meter hub which combines my total solar harvest from 4 charge controllers...
For cable size, I have 3pcs 75mm diameter cables feeding in from the battery bank to the inverter...
As for number of panels/ratings, that would be 48pcs, with 24pcs 315w Solarworld panels from kiekie and 24pcs 330w Canadian Solar from Gennex...

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by remizvxcq(m): 12:40pm On Jun 13, 2020
In my practical experience, it is best to design on the assumption that 1hp nameplate = 1kW continuous power demand! Some loads need 2x or more of nameplate continuous amperage in order to start/stop. Some loads, when affected by blockages or stalling, can surge up to 6x their continuous load amperage. All these amps are pulled from the batteries via the inverter(s) and cabling. Size to spare.

SolnergyPower:
Please take a look at what a 1.5HP was drawing. 1.4Kw. Any explanation for the difference compared to your calculation?
