Amazing and educative thread. I've been able to learn a few things on here. pls I'm an undergrad who's interested in making money online too. Anybody that can help me learn. Preferably programming inclined opportunities. I don't own a laptop but I hope to learn with my phone. I'm also looking into phone photography or graphic designs. Just anything that'll fetch me money cos I'm in my mid twenties already and I wasn't born with no spoon.
Believe me, poverty is terrible and my motivation is Hunger. HUNGER.

bro you cant actually became a pro in anything digital with you phone..
the phone is there for the theories and tutorials, it can help u to a certain stage/level in the practical cux you will always need a laptop.

I took my time to read from page one to the end and all I can say is that youths, particularly graduates are going through hell in this country.
My own story is a little bit long but I will try as much as possible to summarize it .
i was born and brought up by my Grandma in a remote village in Oyo state .My parent parted ways since when i was 2years old owed to the fact that my mum was a muslim while dad was a christian .My dad is a drunkard who doesn't care about children. I Struggled to finished my secondary school at the age of 19 year-old but because of passion i have for academic and the fact that there is no a single graduate in my family I decided to further my education so I took the bold step and left the village unceremoniously for Lagos at least to gather some money before I gain admission since there's no sponsorer .When I got to Lagos I didn't think twice before I started riding okada since i already knew how to ride okada(motorcycle ) right from the village .Somebody may ask me how do you cope with the accommodation in Lagos? (anyway, I was sleeping inside a shop with my fellow okada boys then) thou we paid the shop owner every week as we all know, there is no free things in lagos.fast forward to 2016 I wrote jamb , scored 192 and I was admitted to a state polytechnic in ibadan .I struggled to finish my OND in 2018. did my one-year IT in one insurance company in Lagos last year so during the course of the IT I took another jamb and I was admitted to University of Lagos so now I am 24years old in 100l. It was not an easy journey but I vehemently believe that I am going somewhere in life as someday said I am also a work in progress presently now, I am putting my eyes on programming and graphics designing .

My story.

Finished from secondary sch at 16 with high hopes and good grade. My first real challenge was jamb. Did jamb 4 time bfor i finally made it to one of the federal universities. I spent like 6 years in the uni cos of strike and stuff and my course was a five years course. I went to one of those universities where lecturer are happy when student fail. I have had a lecturer that says you will all fail in Jesus name. I wonder the mentality. They brag among themselves how they made lot of student fail. I finished from the useless school (I still feel it was a waste of my time). To make it worse i graduated with a third class. I felt all was hope was lost. People will told me even me that had 2.1 i never see work shey na you wan come see work.

I accepted my faith. Am i promised myself that am not a failure. Started looking for job. Was at home for 19 months without job and frustrated with little or no financial assistant from any one.

Luck smiled on me. I got my first job of =N=49k. I saved almost everything because i wanted to do pro courses. I did and i passed with very good grades.
I did my PGD and in open uni and i have done my masters also.

Now am doing quite well, i have far exceeded where i tot i wld be in just 7 years. I got a very good job with the pro courses (In IT) i did.

So my point is that you should never limit yourself because that that grade you come out with in sch. You can still be great if you remain focus and if luck smile on you. Do pro courses (Though it is expensive but its worth it), dont give up, you too can make it even if you come out with a PASS or Third class.

Hi, Mr. Perfectlyperfect. Your post is quite inspiring. I entered fiverr February this year, and till now I haven't gotten a single sale.

I'm into the WordPress web design niche as well. I've sent countless buyers request proposals, yet Nada.

How did you make your entry to get people buying from you? Buyers request? Outside promo? How Long did it take to get traction.

Sorry for the many questions.it's just quite frustrating. Lol

And if you don't mind, I can also help you with some work if such an opportunity exists.

Thanks

Hello, if you're into wordpress web design I'll give you a tip that will help; be very specific in the type of website in your gigs. For example, don't write "I'll build a wordpress website", write "I'll build a wordpress ecommerce website" or "I'll build a wordpress community website".
Try it.
Also, go through this link https://www.nairaland.com/3237273/how-make-regular-income-offering/5 That's what helped me get started.
Don't expect miracles though, it'll take some time for your gigs to gain traction.
I wish you the best

The account I used to make that post was opened in 2016. That screenshot was from last year.
I have a new account I opened this year, I've had 21 projects on the new one.
Had more than 70 in the old one.

I don't use buyer's request anymore. Used to use it though

Just use that tip, you'll be surprised how things will improve.
The 21 sales I've gotten is because I don't accept orders from Indians, Pakistanis and orders that are very low priced.
Avoid Indians if you can. They'll request for plenty work and price you miserably
