A call was placed to the immediate past Ambrose Alli University Students Union Government PRO THOMPSON Jotham who happen to be one of the victim.

Thompson made it categorucalky clear that the news came to him as a shock that an allegation based on hear say without evidence could be used against him by blackmailers. He further explained that he will obey the rule of the University and respond adequately to the Query.

Prof Ignatius Onimawo, the Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, on Tuesday, debunked some online media reports that quoted him as saying that the University of Ibadan certificate of Governor Godwin Obaseki was fake.

The Vice-Chancellor issued the rebuttal at a press conference at the main campus of the university in Ekpoma.

He described the reports as “wicked, malicious, and outright falsehood”.

He emphasized that he did not at any time grant interview to any journalist on the issue.

Onimawo said, “We have started an investigation into the publication, and the matter has been reported to the DSS (Department of State Service), police, and we have also reported the matter to other agencies of government to find out the root of the matter.

“It took me by surprise that somebody could quote the Vice-Chancellor of AAU as saying that the certificate of the visitor to the university is fake. The executive governor, His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki is distinguished Alumnus of the University of Ibadan.

“In fact, in 2018 the University of Ibadan Alumni Association chose him as the distinguished Alumni lecturer, and I accompanied him to Ibadan to that event. So, how can I turn around to say that the same governor was now asking me to make him belong to the alumni association.”

Well, Obaseki's certificate is generating so many problems for so many people including the governor himself whom Oshiomole and co tried to cast doubts on his certificate.

When a university VC is angry with a student in Africa, only God can save that student (whether guilt or not). Its like when a governor is angry with a civil servant.

I just hope this Obaseki's movie can be fast forwarded. The suspense is too much.

Before I go, remind me which university certificate Mr. Adams Oshiomole used while he was governor, please?

Yeah, a website like Nairaland must have Legal counsel on a retainer.

I've said this multiple times and I'll keep saying it. Yes, nairaland.com has a disclaimer saying that members are solely responsible for their posts but the moment a post hits front page, it automatically receives validation and becomes nairaland material. This is because only moderators employed or assigned by the owner of the forum can move a topic to the front page. So if the post remains in the section where it was originally made, the poster is solely responsible but the moment it is moved to the home page, the site becomes culpable and by extension, sueable.

All these dirty and useless university in Nigeria, spit!
