Daily devotional.

*Date : Thursday, 18-06-2020*.

*Theme : The way of Balaam*.

*Read : Num 22 vs 1-20*.

*Memorise* :
" _Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness_ " - 2pet 2 vs 15.



*Meditate on this : The love of money can blind your spiritual vision*.

This story is a peculiar story,that taught us a lot of lessons, a genuine prophet who can hear the voice of God,but his love for money made him to lose his standing with God.

When king balak invited Balaam to come and curse Israel, he sought the will of God. And God told him not to go,but later the king said he would give him more honour and money if he came. Then Balaam said he would seek God's will again.

What was the need to seek God's will,when the one who knows the end from the beginning has spoken. But he was eager to get more money and honour.

The Bible says he loved the wages of unrighteousness (2 pet 2 vs 15) and forsook the right way.

The first lesson we must learn is that when you are blinded by the love of money,even a donkey will be able to see, spiritual realities more clearly than you!!
Because the donkey did not love money,it could see clearly!!!

It is unfortunately a lot of our youths are following the way of Balaam today, because of their love for money. Just maybe you are in a situation like this, and God has told you not to marry that sister or brother or not to take that job or leave that location. If God has spoken once on that issue , then don't bother seeking his face again. This scripture below will give us a better understanding.

*Ezekiel 14:1* _Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me_.

*14:2*_And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying_
,
*14:3* _Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them_ ?

*14:4* _Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols_.

Beloveth, each time you want to seek the face of God, on any issue remove every idol from your heart,if not he will answer you according to the multitude of your idols.

*Assignment *:
1. Remove every idol from your heart today.

1 Father i refuse to follow the way of Balaam in Jesus name.
