Thank you so much for your enlightened submission on this matter. Just to add that in the Catholic Church, the couple are the ministers. The Bishop or Priest or Deacon only represents the Church. The two witnesses are present to witness the coule's exchange of consent. Rings placed on particular fingers are signs of a married person. Or else how will one know a married person in today's world at first sight? That is why cheaters fling or hide their wedding rings.

Christianity never complicated wedding. The human mind did.

What is Reno even talking about? Jesus was at a Wedding FEAST. Water was changed into wine there. Even in Africa, Traditional Wedding is preceded with FEASTING. In Africa, we celebrate everything, even death. It is part of our cosmology. It is simple. Feast if you can and don't if you can't. I DISAGREE WITH RENO.

God was the father of Adam and blessed them himself, going by your analogy. He didn’t call on any angel to come as his representative to bless them


You are damn right. Children, honour your father and your mother, so that your days maybe long. Parents are the authority to their children and when they consent to marry, they will pray for them and bless them.

These days, people rob and kill to make money in order to get married. Most pastors act as if they are more important in the lives of married people.

Some of them will even tell newly married couples that their parents are behind their problems. They should always come to them for counselling. Too bad. Omikiri is right.
