Wrong Grammatical Expression Among Most Nairalanders by DrayZee(op):
I don’t know where this issue is coming from, but most people on Nairaland seem to have this exact problem of making statements like:
- He don’t worth it.
- She doesn’t worth it.
- It doesn’t worth that amount.
- How much does he worth?

These are all completely wrong!
I don’t know who started it, or why so many Nairalanders with, otherwise good grammar, seem to make this particular mistake.

”Don’t”, “Does” and “Doesn’t” should NEVER come before “Worth”. Please.

The correct usage is:
- He isn’t worth it.
- She’s not worth it.
- It’s not worth that amount.
- How much is he worth?

Thank you.

The problem with this one in particular is that a whole lot of Nairalanders say this. To be honest, apart from here, I’ve never heard anyone use such grammar in my life. I’m confused as to why it is so rampant here.

No need for that. Besides, you’ll probably see someone like that within a day of using Nairaland. It’s that common.
